I think Gbay explained the difference between good and bad RNG very well, which is why i also would like to see the smite buff stay and why Riot has to step carefully with the plants.

Is it unreasonable to expect that the designers in charge of game balance also be some of the best players of their game in the world in addition to being a professional game developer? Game developers already work overtime a lot, and in addition to maintaining family ties, would they also have time to invest in getting to a Challenger / Master skill level, if they even could?

Is it incorrect to think that the best players in the world know more about the game than the people in charge of developing their game? Sure, the best players certainly don't make them the best game developers, these are two completely different skill sets, which is the same problem as above. There's not enough room in a person's time to be a professional game developer and a professional game player and having both talents rarely aligns.

Despite this: I'm honestly on the side of the players here, Riot realized player perception is more important than what is actually better. But it seems some of them internally still don't get it. Our top players are like gods to us plebeians, and if they say something is horrible, we'll think so to. So you better take our pros seriously or face the extinction of your game. Remove plants before they hit live, and don't take away our smite buffs! Continue uncorrected at your own peril.
