Ornn buffs - Headed toward the same direction as Ivern/Galio

MonkeyKing : Every mistake is a lesson. Or so it says on the side bar.

The buffs to Ornn in the patch 7.20 are too significant. This champion is going the same route as Ivern and Galio. Riot's evaluation of performance indicates the these champions were initially weak, and that was partly true and they needed minor (key word) changes. These three champions had strong kits from the beginning and took time getting used too. At the moment, Ivern is fine again after being garbage for a long time after the hit to his HP/Mana per camp changes and Galio remains Olaf 'd because he is too strong competitively.

They key is to be** patient**, dishing out buffs after buffs is going to collapse on itself. Players like Scarra already had great success with Ornn. I am currently sitting on 64% winrate. The player base needed more time to realize the strength of this champion and unfortunately his strength will be now oppressive because Riot forced it.

I am curious to hear a Rioter's narrative on the direction of the Ornn buffs. What are they expecting to happen? All three of the changes are huge, why not release one at a time? This champion is headed down this terrible cycle we have seen time and time again.

Some of the buffs this time are welcome, like his E adjust and R2 recast. I hold that the damage change on top of all of it was too much. I even had a post about the W change, which got a little notice overall but died out, unfortunately.

If they nerf anything, I vote for the W damage.

I was sorta on board with this until you implied that Galio is bad now... lol..

Yep. Ornn is something people have to get used to, especially since most tanks are not really hard mechanically. I can't even tell the amount of times I saw Ornns failing the second part of the ultimate by timing it wrongly, without an enemy ccing them or disrupting them otherwise.

I agree that no more buffs are needed but I do think the changes in 7.20 have corrected some issues that have bogged down his success. There are a few players who have really been able to capitalize on his game-play but statistically he is still showing in the lower half of champs in win-rates. The only exception being at Diamond and Challenger. In those tiers he performs much better.
