[Roughly] One Year Later....I've Got Some Words to Say

Dear Riot,

I've been playing LoL for almost a year now. I was convinced by friends of mine to make an account and start playing with them, and I was hooked.

You've really made an incredible game. LoL is incredibly fun to play, has a great variety of champions to play as, and offers a fair amount of game modes to fill up however much time you'd like to kill. Plus, it's totally free-to-play!

However.

When I first joined I was introduced to "NA server problems." I didn't think much of these at first; they were only occasional and didn't affect me very much.

But recently I've been running into more problems. And I've been on the boards more frequently too. It's not just me; it's an incredibly large percentage of your playerbase. (Total side note here - but where is the playerbase on the Boards? Considering LoL has MILLIONS of players, how come posts that have only hundreds of upvotes are considered popular? Where's the other 9,999,234 players? Can someone fill me in on that? Any word on this would be much appreciated.)

These players have attempted to reach out to you. They present you with problems that are incredibly inconvenient and way too frequent for them to be acceptable. Constant disconnects, firewall problems, and general game lag are major problems that need to be addressed.

I do not expect an immediate fix for any of these; you have a huge amount of people that play this game. You can't really diagnose someone's computer problems without being present and looking at it yourself, and it appears you do the best you can to help otherwise.

However.

You NEED to acknowledge your players. Be present here in the forums. Send out a mass email or something. Details are not necessarily necessary, but would be appreciated.

Threads of people letting you know that there's a problem NEED to be acknowledged. Posting problem after problem on the boards (whatever said problem is related to is beside the point here) and not being acknowledged by a Red feels like yelling at someone through a closed window. We know you can see us, but it feels and looks like you're blatantly ignoring us.

So often you hear of companies that totally abandon their consumers in favor of profits. I hope you're not becoming one of those companies. I really want to believe otherwise. I saw a report online recently (for the record, I take most things I read online with a grain of salt) that said as of October of this year (2014) your company made $946 MILLION in revenue. I appreciate the value of money - that's a LOT of money Riot. I'm not asking for a breakdown of where all that money is going, but I can tell you that many players have suspicions it's not going where it should be.

I am looking to 2015 with optimism that there will be less complaints and issues with LoL's ability to provide consistently stable games for players. All I'm asking from you Riot is that you are more open with your customers. It's good business, we would REALLY appreciate it, and it would benefit both sides in the long term.

Sincerely with Love, NintenMoney :)

issue #1. If they listened to everything there fan base said, every champion would be running around with a feather duster tickling people. They cant listen to every complaint because not everyone is good. For example if I destroyed a nasus one game with garen then someone would run to the forums and be like "OH, garen needs a nerf big time" and then ramble a bunch of excuses of why he would when in reality its the bad gameplay on his part that makes garen good.

Issue #2. I've played this game for around 6 years and its my first time in forums because I had to ramble about the surrender button to see if m not going crazy about it so not every 9,999,234 are going to come to the forums.

Issue #3. The money is there money. They made the game and im pretty sure that they play the game themselves. just like anything else if they decided to shut down lol and keep the money im pretty sure they can. They are not obligated to throw that kind of money back into the game because if that amount is true its their profit. They have stuff they need to pay for and if they want to keep it i believe they should. For example you don't see McDonalds making new hamburgers or healthier hamburgers. Naw they want there profit and deserve it.

Last but not least connection issues. Its not lol that is having the issues connecting its you. If you cant connect i suggest getting a new computer and or a new internet provider if you want to play so badly. I had an old computer that i used to play on and i had 3 fps for the longest time. i got a new 6gb laptop and not i have 40 fps which still sucks but its fine for me. Also lap tops are not as good as desk tops for when it comes to gaming. So in conclusion its not lol with the problems its the person trying to connect.
