Any Zed buffs/QoL changes planned to make mastering him rewarding?
I'm just curious at what Riot have planned for Zed.
First off, it's CLEAR that there's a circlejerk around him. Still one of the most banned champions in the game, but it's not like he's winning a lot of games.
According to League of Graphs: 47.6% winrate globally, decreases as ELO increases. According to OP.GG: 46.88% winrate in Platinum+ games in Korea, 47.03% in NA Platinum+, and 46.97% in EUW Platinum+. Lastly, according to champion.gg, you can put over 125 ranked games into learning and mastering this champion only to be rewarded with a sub-51% winrate. To put this in perspective, "first time in Ranked" Aurelion Sols, Ahris, and Cassiopeias are more successful than someone who has put probably hundreds of hours into Zed, according to champion.gg.
It's clear that people are not banning Zed due to actual strength. There is absolutely no logical, rational explanation for a Zed ban at this point. To be honest, I'm convinced people are just salty that they can't just spend 1300 gold to nullify him anymore (looking at ADCs here). Are people really that lazy?? Even in the high elos?? I'm just completely baffled (and a bit salty myself, I hate it when I see Zed banned over something like Irelia or even Swain).
I direct these questions to Riot. If Zed sees any changes in the Assassin class update, what will they be? However, I have a much more pressing question. Are there any plans to make Zed rewarding to play for those who have put in the time? Zed has always been seen as a champion that must be played extensively to reap rewards. Unfortunately, for Zed, the reward simply isn't there.
NOTE: I'm not saying, "oh, nerf sol, nerf cass, nerf ahri, put a silence on zed ult" or any ridiculous bullshit like that. And yes, Zed is my main. I have lots of fun playing him. I feel the rush of making a sick nasty outplay on someone. I am just saddened at the fact that I will not be sufficiently rewarded, from a competitive/ladder standpoint, for all of the games/hours I have put into the champion I love to play, whose playstyle I identify with and makes me feel at home on the Rift. This isn't just about me, or Zed. From a holistic point of view, nobody should have too make a choice between playing the champion they enjoy, identify with, and have fun with, and winning.
