Exactly as it says. The items cost 50 gold more but you can get them 150 gold sooner.

The only reason this is useful is because almost every single item in league derive's its strength from its unique active/passive, and the active/passive is gated behind the final combination of components (instead of the unique active/passive being upfront and then the upgrades of the item being prohibitively expensive and cost inefficient but hyper slot efficient stat sticks, but stopwatch is changing that just a little).
