Is the 50% wr theory true?

Does riot have a matchmaking system to put people with high wr with people with low wr to balance to 50% wr? Like probably no challenger player has above a 75% wr even if they have god level skills and bronze 5 players generally don't have below 25% wr not considering inters. I climbed from bronze 2 (first season ranked btw) to silver 4, and i had a average of around 60% wr. When i had high wr around the 80% (winstreaks), i found i was paired with low 40% wr players. Is it me just occasionally playing bad or is this shit actually true?

It is 100% true. I have moved 3 accounts to gold this season... and every single account has experienced this awkward wall. Basically I am at say 65% + win ratio for the entire season ... then riot just fucks me in the ass with horrid teammates for 10+ games in a row. This keeps happening until I get down to a 55% win ratio ... then Riot lets me win again.

No. The way the matchmaking system works and how it places you with opponents relative to your skill level (or MMR), winrates tend to hover around 50%, but the system doesn't just go "Hey fuck this guy he has a high winrate we need to make him lose 10 games in a row to tank it."

When I take a long break and play my first game, 100% of the time in my experience my team is way better than the enemy team for no reason and I get carried even if I do nothing. I always thought that was interesting. Pretty sure Riot does something behind the scenes
