A comparison of Caitlyn Traps.
Just wanted to do a quick comparison of Caitlyn traps to every other trap ability in the game, as I see a lot of people tossing misinformation around.
First things first are Caitlyn's Traps themselves.
They cost 20 mana a pop, can be cast from 800 range (functionally 700 AA range), last for 90s, recharge every 45-10s based on rank, can have 3/3/4/4/5 stored, arm in 1.1s, and when actually triggered:
-Root for 2s, at all ranks
-Grant true sight for 9s
-Grants Caitlyn an empowered version of her headshot
-Cause the target to take full damage from her Q regardless of units passed through
Next up are Jinx's Traps.
They cost 70 mana, can be cast from 900 range (800 AA range), last for 5s, have a 24-16s CD based on rank, are fired in a set of 3, arm in 0.7s and when triggered:
-Root the target for 1.5s
-Deal magic damage over 1.5s
-A single cast of Chompers can affect up to 3 enemy champions.
Jhin is next.
They cost 30-50 mana, based on rank, can be cast from 750 range (functionally 650 range), last for 120s, have a 28-24s recharge time, can store up to 2 at any time, arm and stealth in 2s, and have a 2s internal CD on use, when triggered:
-The trap blooms, revealing all enemies for 4s, does not grant true sight
-Blooming traps slow enemies by 35% for 2s
-After 2s the trap explodes, dealing damage to all enemies still on hit
-Deals reduced damage to enemies recently hit by one
-Jhin also creates a trap under any champion he kills
Moving away from ADCs, we have Shaco.
Boxes cost 50-70 mana based on rank, can be cast from 425 range (effective 325 AA range), last for 60s + 1s per 20 AP, have a 16s CD, arm and stealth in 2s, and cannot be stacked on top of eachother, when triggered:
-Fear all nearby enemies for 0.5-1.5s, based on rank
-Fire on the closest enemy unit, prioritizing the last enemy champion Shaco was fighting
-Last for 5s or until slain while firing
Teemo and Nidalee also have traps, but as Teemo's is an ult, and Nidalee's are about to be reworked I'll be excluding them from the comparison.
It is also worth noting that of the traps mentioned here, only Jinx and Caitlyn's are immune to Control Wards. While I personally believe Cait traps are overloaded I wanted to put the information up in one place so you guys can form your own opinions.
