Why is there a delay when tahm kench eats you, and you use a ability to get out?

I think you should be able to be spit out instantly since i've had several occasions where a tahm accidentally eats me when I'm about to get a kill or when they're just plain trolling and its annoying how you have to wait a about a second delay
