Soraka Speculation Rework Kit Version 2.0

Hello beta board, today I bring you my speculations on what Sorakas kit may look like. This is all speculation on my part from reading other peoples ideas and dissecting the comments that Vesh has made on the goat lady. I have 10 points here that focus on what changes that Soraka will be going through and a possible look at what kind of kit she may have. Remember, this is all speculation and none of it is entirely grounded on facts. (Although, there are a few things that Vesh has confirmed.) This is also the second time I am posting this thread because there was a hint made by Vesh himself involving Sorakas kit and I believed my speculation is good enough for a second posting.

 1. Soraka will not be keeping her old passive. She will receive something that Vesh and company have dubed the astral ambulance. SPECULATION: From the sound of the nickname, I can assume it has to do with speed. I believe that when Soraka heals an ally they receive a speed boost. She might also recieve a speed boost as well. There is also speculation that Soraka alone will instead recieve a speed boost if there is a wounded ally nearby. OPINION: If this is true, I think it would be pretty awesome if it acted as a cleanse as well. That speed boost is useless if the person I am healing is being bogged down with CC. Althought this is rather op, so it would probably be gated with how much health the ally has (I.E if ally is below x% of health) and a possible CD tacked on the passive for extra measure. As for the second speculation, it's pretty clear cut. Gain movement speed when a wounded ally gets within your range.

 2. Soraka Q will now be a Skillshot and will no longer have a MR shred but will be able to root the target. SPECULATION: With a few more hints from Vesh, we can confirm that Sorakas Q will bring a flat health return if it lands. It will not be a health regen. Also with further information from Vesh, I will speculation that when a target gets hit by the new infused they will receive a marker which Soraka alone can consume. If Soraka lands her Q while the marker is active, they will be rooted. Look to number 4 for more information. OPINION: I'm kinda glad to see the old starfall go. It was just a spammy no thinking ability. Although I may miss that MR shred. Also this new information about sorakas second ability on her Q is a rather a more tentative speculation from my part.

 3. If Soraka lands her Q, healing will be safer for her. SPECULATION: This reinforces # 2. If sorakas healing cost her health then it would make sense that her Q would, in fact, make it safer for her to cast because she is also getting health before that.

 4. Sorakas infuse will keep its mana-battery capabilities but it will be on a longer CD because her silence will have a bigger impact. SPECULATION:With a few hints from Vesh, I think I can make a better speculation about what infused will do. I believe that it will be an AOE ability that once casted will do two things. 1. If any allies are in the AOE, they will receive a portion of mana. If any enemies are in the AOE, they will receive a silence plus a marker. Look to number 2 for further explanation on the marker.

 5. Sorakas Ultimate has been altered so that it will heal more for allies with less health and no so much with allies that are well off without it. OPINION: This seems to be a reoccurring theme for sustains supports. It's nothing but a means to ward off topping allies health while rewarding them with clutch heals. I personally have no problems with this and, so far, it seems to be effective. But if her ult is also effected by this mysterious Q ability, I think that would be pretty cool.

 6. Soraka will no longer be built as a tank SPECULATION: There's been a lot of speculation from both sides about whether or not soraka will build tanky. It's still rather too early to tell without seeing the kit but from what Vesh has said, it would actually be a bad idea to build a full tank set.

 7. Soraka will be an infused healer that keeps her star theme SPECULATION: There has been a lot of worrying and concern that infused healer will mean that Soraka will be using blood for healing. It has been confirmed that Soraka will not be using blood healing in any thematic way. (I'll take the flak for spreading this fear around, my bad.) Vesh has confirmed that Soraka will be keeping her star theme. Just a quick recap on what a infused healer does: they sacrifice a portion of their health to heal another. Simplest way I can put it. OPINION: I have been a little resistent to the idea of an infused healer aspect but the more I read up on it, the more I feel comfortable with the concept. She just needs the right kit for this to work.

 8. Soraka may not be able to heal herself by regular means. SPECULATION: With more information Soraka will be capable of healing herself, it has not been confirmed though if she can still heal herself with her primary healing. This has yet to be confirmed that Sorakas ultimate will not target her either. OPINION: I still would like it if she was capable of healing with her main healing skill but given the information we have so far, that would be a horribly OP idea. Still, crossing fingers that Wish will heal her.

 9. One of the Core items on Soraka will be Guardian Angel. SPECULATION: Vesh has said that Guarian Angel will be considered a core item on Sorakas new kit. This seems to hint that during heavy fights that Soraka may bring her health to very low levels to attract the enemies attention. Quick recap if people forgot: It is an item that give 50 armor and 40 Magic Resistance. Also, Upon taking lethal Damage, restore 30% of maximum health and mana after 4 seconds of stasis.

 10. Sorakas healing will be on a lower CD and will be losing it's armor buff. SPECULATION: Thanks to veshs hint we can confirm that Soraka will be losing her armor buff. This will probably be compensated with Soraka healing more often. But how often will she heal? NO idea. All I know is that the more soraka heals a target, the more risk she is taking on.

There is also talk about Sorakas healing costing a flat % max health. I left it out because I'm not really good when trying to decipher stuff this technical and I would probably accidentally misinform you with me trying to explain it.

As a Leona support player, I like most of these ideas. I was considering learning Soraka, but was too late for the huge nerfs on her. I would like to be able to learn another support, maybe Soraka based on these speculations. Thanks for your post :)

If her abilities cost health in any way, she will build tanky. This has always been a thing for every single champion ever. Even vlad and morde do this, and they also need AP.

Simply put, If they are doing this to soraka, then they will need to either make her useless, or allow her to build tanky.

It's still too early to tell if she will be tanky or not and I'm not that great when it comes to the technical portion of this. If you want talk about the good and bad of tankraka in this possible kit, I would suggest Thales thread. Also, I'm not really sure if you are suppose to build tanky with morde or Vlad. I've never seen them build that path before.

Unless they are miraculously ignored all game, they will build tanky. Especially morde. Reason being, that ult is near useless if he dies too quick. Considering that Health is a resource for them, they need to guard it as best that they are able, due to enemy champions wanting to draw their own cost on that bar. Granted, it is supposed to be Tanky AP, but still tanky. Kinda like rumble or cho.

I feel that if Soraka gains Health costs, she will build tanky AP as well. Unless for some unkown reason she starts scaling with something other than AP, which I doubt.

I fully expect soraka post rework to get a build similar to item 3027 item 3116 item 3111 item 3065 item 3068 item 3003, assuming of course that the Health costs are present. Sunfires might change, but honestly its the most variable item besides item 3116 turning intoitem 3152 if she can no longer heal herself.

If they want her to be a health battery, she is gonna build health. Just like when they gave a mana cost to her Mana restore, she started stacking mana. At this point, though, she will need so many stats she won't function very well in bot lane, and will take over top or mid. Possibly even becoming a jungle ambulance, rushing from hurting lane to hurting lane, empowering kill comps bot with her sustain. Giving her CC and health costs kind of enforce this, and with Q becoming a skill shot she will no longer be auto zone in top lane, meaning that she would no longer be a huge issue. She would be very anti AD caster, but that is no worse than Syndra being anti pet, or Teemo being anti melee.

This is pretty well thought out, thanks for your contributionVelkoz .

I also think that ROAitem 3027 and Spirit Visageitem 3065 are going to be a good idea to build on her. I kinda figured one would need to build some tank items, just not a whole tank build. What do you think about Hourglass, though? Also I hope you are wrong about her supporting being pushed to the side for possible jungler. That's my least effective role. Although, it would be a pretty unique jungler. I already hear people having some success with jungleraka right now. If that ends up being the case, I would have to brush up on how to clear jungles fast.

I think Riot will be making her a backline support. No doubt her Q will have some range on it, far larger than her Starfall. Her new Q will be capable of healing her as well, from my speculations.I mean, Vesh pretty much said that they were Braumifying her kit.

But at this point, we are just talking speculations. Again, thanks for your input. It was pretty intersting
