Is Thornmail suppose to be underwhelming to a fed Master Yi?

Had 300 Armor

he current did 1.9k damage in 1.6 seconds 600 of that was true damage (which armor can not negate only health) exactly what is a tanky support suppose to do against a extremely fed 21/6 Master Yi? and he still deleted me in 4 hits is something wrong with armor? because if 300 armor is still not enough I'll have to sacrifice my support items on and be just

at the moment if a yi and tryndamere are fed I feel Armor items might be useless at this point and I should just stack health and Attack Damage on Ornn

Just dont know what to do at this point...

You're supposed to die.

If your team feeds the enemy team, your team is supposed to lose.

There's not supposed to be a magic item that makes you automatically win the game, win a teamfight, or even win a duel regardless of gold, objectives, or any other kind of strategic or tactical disadvantages stacked against you. That would be stupid.

If you want to know how you could have won that game, do not look at the fight where a 21/6 Master Yi killed you, look instead at how the Yi became 21/6 and why the game didn't end before that point.

Thornmail is just overall underwhelming.

That said, if Yi is actually so fed to the level of 21/6, you're kinda supposed to die, with or without Thornmail, you know. Because by that stage of fed-ness, he's already got his win-condition and is allowed to win just like that.

I do agree you need ton more damage to beat yi vs a tanky class, perhaps ill play draft, go against enemy yi and build cc, blindpick is a fun casusal pick which is fine/meh but thank you on great advice

Yi is specialized to melt everything. Rageblade Yi can kill you with 1k5+ true damage in th deathrecap.

Tankiness does not counter master Yi. But CC does

Tryndamere on the other hand is completely different. He's fully physical damage, armor shits on him especially thornmail tabis and randuins

MasterYi Fiora Vayne tend to invalidate tanks due to their kits.

I personally always ban Vayne if i'm playing a melee juggernaut or tank.

If you see a Yi being picked, hard cc and burst is the only option if he gets fed.

In 3v3 I got around these kinds of champs combining a teammates reliable hard cc with a good Velkoz ult.

True damage burned right through his little W defenses.

Stop buying blue fist and sunfire cape on supports. Stop buying definite cape almost ever on any champion really. Stay with your carry. If yi is killing you and not your carry you should be ok if you have the cc to keep him still.

Also not sir why you think orn should ever be able to 1v1 anyone???

Let me clarify something. Yi is immune to ALL slows, including AS slows (if you think otherwise, try it). That being said, the AS slow passive won't do anything. The GW passive won't do anything neither, and the 20 magic damage on-hit passive won't make a difference. That leaves you with an item that gives 250 HP and 80 armor iirc, that's not a lot.

He built Bloodrazor that deals 4% of your max HP (reduced by armor) and BoRK that deals 8% of your current HP (reduced by armor too). Still, he probably hit 2.5 AS with his build, so yeah it's very normal you wouldn't have lasted long.

He's extremely weak to chain CC, assuming your team is here to back you up with damage.

bonus question: is Fed Yi **w/o CC **on ally team a possibility to endure to win or should we just surrender at 20:00 when hes reached peaked fed/item build status?

CC. CC stops yi after one auto, and then you instaburst him. That's the only way to stop a fed yi.

Thornmail I just a waste unless you are really ahead in the game. But even then one life steal item on any carry and you are just left with an expensive item with moderate hp and armor basically without the passive. It is good on malphite since you can stack AR to increase the damage from the passive.

I also learned that building tank is counter productive vs Yi. You need damage to stop him. Tons of damage FAST

Yi LOVES it when his enemies go tank because he's a tank shredder. That said, you should have some kind of CC, which pretty much any melee bruiser should have.

Thornmails only purpose is an un-needed snowball item at this point, as it shuts down lifesteal cutting back lifesteal considerable and FORCING them to build tank to survive and cutting back on their damage because of it
