Improve Forgotten Summoner Spells
In the next season you have an opportunity to present new diversity to the game.
One of the locations I can see a real opportunity is to buff some of the forgotten summoner spells, and perhaps even add a few new ones.
Let me give you a few examples.
Clairvoyance: Temporarily reveal a location on the map AND reveal any wards that are currently placed in the location. This is not to destroy them, but, instead, to provide an overlay on YOUR TEAM's minimap of the OPPOSING TEAM's ward game. For example, let's say someone has placed a ward on your blue buff, if you cast clairvoyance on the area, then that ward would be revealed and a 'hashed red' overlay on your minimap (or some other indication) would allow you to know when you're currently in the enemy team's vision. Alternatively, Clairvoyance could place a stealth ward at that location, allowing for some epic clairvoyance->teleport plays. This could also be exceedingly useful if it let me (a support main) place TWO stealth wards. ** Cleanse:** Could be a minor buff of increasing the post-duration to 5 seconds or a lower cooldown. I'd like to see something more clever, however, such as 'removes all disables and makes you like an Olaf Ult for 5 seconds.' Or a momentary speed boost, or invisibility for 3 seconds until your next action (like a vayne ult->roll).
Clarity: Not only does it restore 40% mana, but does some other mage-helping-epicness. For example, provides a 10% AP Boost to your allies for 4 seconds. Or gives them +10% cdr for 10 seconds, etc.
Barrier: If heal provides a speed boost, why can't barrier create an AOE slow a-la randuins?
ITEMS:
There are a few items I think could use a 'fourth' tier to help them provide meaningful value into the late-late game, I'll give you one example.
Sightstone: Right now Ruby Sightstone is basically a joke. it's an item I get when I have spare cash and everything else is filled, and then I want to sell it. There are a few ways I think this can be alleviated. One, have sightstone also provide passive gold gains, so it helps to build out your deck. Two, give Ruby Sightstone more than just health (armor/mr). Three, give Ruby Sightstone some other very meaningful benefit. For example, let's me place two pink wards, or 4 green ones, etc. Four, give sightstone a tier above Ruby (Diamond?) which is somewhat like the last tier of boots, where I can choose the affect I want it to give me (AP, Armor, Health, etc).
Quick note:
Supports still need more gold, or more opportunities to acquire it (for example, getting assists with X gold item provides bonus gold). Or they need a different customization option perhaps like our latest game mode where they can buff the creeps or acquire different coins to affect the game. Look at the pro games lately, we're looking at 4 champions sitting on 4-5 items while the supports have 2-3. That balance needs work. I realize this is a careful play, but there are avenues to provide items which work alongside the kalista/zeke's logical where they are strong because they're acting in a support role, and they wouldn't be picked up by carries as cheap itemization.
TL;DR: Riot, great work, great game. Let's continue to improve the diversity of gameplay that makes this game fantastic.
. Even you version is weak, you can easily replace it with
. It needs better cast range(global) and AOE(1/4 of the map) to be useful.
Cleanse is outclassed by
. QSS should only remove CC and DOTs, like Cleanse does, and Cleance should remove all debuffs that QSS removes now. And maybe add something of your ideas
Clarity should restore ALL mana/energy/rage and maybe add that 10% cdr
Barrier needs normal duration, like 10 seconds, and better shield
Sightstone is fine as it is, Ruby sightstone should place invisible pink wards instead of stealth wards(with limit of 3 as it is now)
And support gold items need 4th stage, with
upgrade giving 100 AP,
upgrade giving permanent MS bonus on its holder(active spreads it on nearby allies for some time, like it does now),
upgrade giving shield to all allies in huge AOE with its active. These items should, however, lose their gold-generating passives at the 4th stage, so its more of a last purchase
