Can we just remove the move speed bonus on Zeal items?

I think this would be an easy way to nerf Marksman as well as our cough favourite champ Yasuo.

All the melee champs that I can think of which might use a Zeal item have some form of MS boost in their kits anyway (Yi, Yasuo, GP, even Gnar), and ADCs are supposed to be immobile. Even if it's minimal, the move speed bonus only helps make them snowball harder by slightly reducing the need for positioning, the class's key skill (get to lane/rotate faster/better escape and chase).

It's hidden power where it's not required. Thoughts?

Nerf marksman, the role that requires skill and time to learn but don't need yasuo who is critting at Low levels, gets a shield by doing nothing, has 3000 + health and high ad ratios, and has incredibly simple chasing mechanics. Nerf adc so yasuo can stomp on them more, good idea.

How about the reverse? Instead of nerfing marksmen, who tend to be the most mobile among ranged champions, why not buff melee champions by increasing their base movement speed? The reason so many melee champions have dashes and movement speed self-buffs is because they lack the base movement to reach their targets effectively, and buffing their base speed would allow for them to have kits that don't always have to rely on persistent boosts to function, or excessive amounts of damage or durability to auto-win against opponents they finally get to attack in melee range. If ranged champions are to have a reach advantage, melee champions should have a mobility advantage, and even the slowest melee should be faster than the fastest ranged.

The question is why would you want to nerf marksmen in the first place?

So what would the Zeal items grant instead of movespeed so they aren't just a stat-stick?

I'm thinking a 10% chance to dodge any instance of damage. That would be fair compensation, right?

I'm curious what MS boost Yasuo has in his kit. I've played a hell of a lot of Yasuo and I have yet to see this supposed MS boost.

And no, dashes are not an MS boost.

That kinda sucks if you wanna swap your boots for another Zeal item though I especially see this on GP
