top lane is the most punishing lane for playing out of meta champions

title.

picked Wukong against an Ornn LMAO instantly got zoned. then he proceeded with a brainless dive, killed him and we won the game.

the problem I have is if I take any out of meta champ against a meta champ in top lane you lose the minute you walk in lane that is really sad. what is sadder tho is I knew I was a better player then that Ornn out csing him etc, yet I can't touch him riot?

I remember when I first played league I was all about that wukong top, then all of a sudden he was the most useless champ, either that or Im trash. anyways I would have to agree with u, its hard up there in no mans land.

Its also way easier to tell what is and isnt meta in top lane.

Mid lane has so much shit that is good that its hard to really pin down the meta outside of like... azir.

Jungle is the same way, Honestly like 3/4 of the jungle roster is good atm.

ADC....... well. vayne, kog, draven, cait. not much else.

Support. honestly. Janna is still like top dog.

He's got a low winrate vs Wukong. Granted it's a low sample size, but his winrate is literally less than 45%.

There are so many non-meta picks you can take against anyone if you just take any sort of care to learn what you're up against.

Karthus, Talon, Quinn, Aatrox, Wukong, Swain, Poppy, Yorick, Kled, Garen - all champs that aren't particularly meta picks and yet they have pretty damn good winrates vs. Ornn, for example.

Just do a bit of research.

I'm sorry that you don't know how to play vs Ornn. He's one of the easiest champs to lane against if you know what you're doing. Treat the entire lane like a duel, and be ready to strafe sideways on anything he casts. His knockups and brittle give you plenty of time to respond unless you're standing next to terrain.

1.5 sec until Q is useful. 2 Seconds until W applies Brittle, and locks Ornn in place. E requires a Wall or you to be bad enough to still be next to his Q. R gives you up to 2 seconds to avoid the slow, and 4 seconds to predict the second tap.

Are you trying to say that it's not fun playing the same 5 champions everyone else is playing, but there's also not really a way around it outside of getting reported for trolling? Wow man, why would you want something like that???

Jk for real though.
