Malphite is fine where he is right now and with the current PBE changes AD Malphite will be lost and AP/tank Malphite will more than likely become OP and become nerfed back down a notch later... Riot if you really feel stern on buffing Malphite then please don't do it in a way that completely kills AD Malphite.
I agree. Malphite is a good champ with a good kit. I don't recall anyone saying he was underpowered or overpowered.
Because he's not an ad champ so he shouldn't have an ad build path XD.

The AD boost doesn't provide any benefits to his main playstyles, and it only serves to allow for an alternative build that still kind of sucks. I like the idea of them giving the skill something more interesting for the main way he gets played. It might be nice if they kept an AD option around, but it's not really that important.
While it will be a nerf to AD Malphite, it could still be viable. You'd have to start with Tiamat though instead of relying on just Brutal Strikes.
This change is conterintuitive. AD Malphite actually has to walk up to someone and trade with them fair and square.
AP/Tank Malphite just throws Qs during the laning phase and rarely interacts with their opponent except to get the kill after he withered them down with uneven trades.
AP/Tank Malphite is essentially a short ranged Nidalee. He spams his poke, he is impossible to catch, and he hardly ever lose trades because of his shield. Why would Riot actually promote more binary gameplay and remove mechanics that people actually find enjoyable?
Was AD Malphite a real thing? (be honest)
Trinity force Malphite was decent yes, but that's only buffed!
