How is it possible for my opponents to level before me when i have double CS?

Looking for a serious answer here because in game I'm either not seeing something or my opponent is cheating because I had 4 cs lvl 1, opponent 2 cs lvl 2, I was 35ish cs at lvl 5, opponent 20 cs lvl 6.

There's something I'm doing wrong? I almost exploded after that match because it made no sense and I can't find a way to make it. How can this happen we were in the lane same time and all I'm getting rewarded with a loss for totally destroying my lane

It's not the CS giving the XP but the creep dying, regardless if you get the CS or not.

So even if you were having more CS, if the enemy did kill you once, or got a kill somewhere else without losing too many creeps in lane, he can have more XP than you even with a lower CS, since he missed the gold, not the XP.

its not about the cs it's about being close to the minions when they die, also if you kill or assist you get xp.

your cs has no bearing on experience gain. You gain full xp of a minion if you're within 1600 units of it.

wards give xp, kills give xp.

They could have been in EXP range more than you even if you got more farm. Like if you backed first but they didn't, or they got to lane first, etc.

cs only counts minions collected. you only have to be near a minions death to get the EXP from it, not necessarily the one to get the gold

I think what you mean is that how is it fair that no matter how good you do in cs they still have equal or higher in level i sense why you feel cheated. I never did passive minion kills vs active kills test to see difference.

XP Range is huge.

You can only deny them the gold not the XP.

You need to provide more details like what you both were playing and what lane you were in. Did they get any kills or assists?
