Shutdown Gold Mechanic Broken?
Was there a change to the Shutdown gold mechanic? Yesterday, I won 11 games in a row, and many of those games being huge comebacks. 3 of those 11 games we were down a massive 7k+ gold at 17-18 minutes and ended up winning the game.
Then, my last game of the day. Literally someone picked Master Yi, built 5 doran blades and ran it down intentionally, but said it wasn't intentional, he was just abusing the shutdown mechanic. He was able to convince his teammates this was a bona fide strat in solo que. His teammates ended up getting massive shutdowns, and we were only getting 150 gold for killing that Yi, and then subsequently giving up 700 gold shutdowns. I think part of the issue is we thought he was trolling so we kind of let down our guard a bit in fairness. Where if we knew what he was doing and made sure to group and end quickly with our lead, it could have been beaten. Either way, they were able to come back and win because all of a sudden the other 4 players on the team were way ahead, and yi just split pushed back into the game (kinda, it was more about the lead of his teammates).
That got me to thinking, after my first 11 wins featured multiple massive comebacks, and then this guy somehow convincing his team that it was coordinated inting. Is this something riot should look at, or has anyone else seen this issues with the shutdown mechanic? Even my first game this morning we were down 11-17 and won. See attached for the one game I lost for the coordinated int game.
