Finished Season Bronze 1 (Not a "I Deserve Gold" Rant)

Had to put that in the title, didn't want judgement too quick into my post LOL. So this season I finished at bronze I after my ten promos. The season before I finished at Silver III. That season, I played all ten promos entirely support blitzcrank. I had no idea how to jungle or top, I was overall terrible at any role besides support. This time around I was playing every other position, as I felt I didn't have enough control over the outcome as a support. I don't understand how, although my skills have improved at the game, I dropped almost an entire tier between seasons. I only lost one game more than last during my promos. It feels like that to climb the ladder, it's almost better to specilize in a single roll, rather than be well rounded in all roles. As a primarily mid and jungle laner, I don't know if i should just learn those roles amazingly and try to climb that way. It feels like a cheap way to climb because ranked is supposed to be about showing the overall skill of the player. What do you guys think?
