That item gives you 600 mana, insanely huge burst power, 20% cooldown and 90 ability power. In other words, what the hell Riot? That thing is literally new ardent censer meme just for ap assassins. Hell, its an universal item as boots at this point. AP assassins and mages are taking this. A goddamn ryze will prefer to get Luden's rather than Archangel cause it gives better stats with better damage. Changes: 80 ability power 10% cooldown passive the same Either this or reduce cooldown to 10% and increase the cost. Item is absolutely broken. Period. It costs 400 gold less than rabadons and gives ten times better overall stats in every section.

If you think any item but a mana regen item is viable as a first item after the mana changes you are absolutely delusional.

Ekko and Fizz can get away without Ludens because they get Lich Bane for mana, but that's it's. Every other AP gets Ludens or Archangels.

Sorry, didn't see the "first item" in the first message. No, its fine for them to get that. But 20% cooldown with 600 mana, 90 ap and burst passive is too much for a 3200 gold worth item.

I have to be honest here as an adc main: The best prove about Adcs being weak is that the Gameplay Boards are back to circlejerk Assasins while ignoring Adcs, and I kinda miss that, like, looking at the most upvoted post just to see that is whining about Adc mains only rightclicking was funny but now I look at the most upvoted threads and they are just crying about Assasins being viable.

The difference is that when people mention assassins, its a direct Zed topic. Everybody is talking about how Zed is broken ( by everybody i mean everybody on the boards, so like 90% of the silvers golds and plats ) while high elo Zed mains are seriously considering to quit maining Zed cause he's worthless piece of garbage in early game making the game such a fucking disaster for him that it's inhumanely sad when people say how Zed ( assassin ) is broken while 70% of the assassin class is ten times stronger than him. AP's assassins and pokers have luden's echo which is like, fifty times better first item than any item for ad assassins, such as Zed. Also, there's that trend of Riot putting true damage on everything and everyone so there's Zoe and Ahri with true damage, and Ryze soon-to-be unless they haven't aborted that nonsense from PBE.
