Champ>Skill meta?
i mean srsly. its more about what you pick. if your team has more fotm/op picks you have a higher chance to win.

Ok why doesnt everyone abuse those freelo "no skill" champs to get to Masters then? Simply put, if you put a Challenger player on the same "no skill" champion as a bronze player, who is going to perform better? Saying champs take "no skill" to use is just flat out wrong and stupid

Yet you still aren't Challenger
i dont play rankeds atm, but next season ill get my izi dia.
for example, i played zed and got really fed 7/2 i guess and they got a tahm top who also got fed and 5/0 so we also had similar farm and level and you know what? i could do NOTHING! he had a much BIGGER inpact on the game and could take 3 people without any problems. the sad part is that i have to play 4 times better than this guy just to have a little chance against him..
you where an assassin he was a tank, tank > assassin LOLZ problem solved
Welcome to modern gaming, where incompetence is rewarded far more than any amount of effort / skill / knowledge is, all because of money. If the snotty brats that play games these days (that applies to everyone, not just kids) are forced to put in any amount of effort, they throw a tantrum and quit the game, then tell their friends not to spend money on it, and so on. Video games used to be a challenge, but now even a "hard" game is just an absolute joke.
In League, we have targeted abilities and auto attacks, and we have skillshots and ability combos. Sure, in some fringe cases, skillshots and combos can beat click spam, but those are only fringe cases. For the most part, the easier a champion is, the stronger they are. Despite having no skillshots or mechanics to speak of, Annie can come along and instantly kill anyone who isn't a full build tank (and even then, she only needs two more casts), and she can 100-0 an entire team within a couple seconds. Can Xerath, Brand, Syndra or Vel'koz do that? So how about AD champs (who are usually a little easier to play)? Let's look at Riven, can just waltz in, roll her face on her keyboard (all while taking zero damage, because you know balance) and walk away with a triple or quadra. What about an ADC, who just literally right-clicks on people until they're dead? Then we have Zed, who has to micromanage himself to infinity, and might get a double for three times the effort that Riven put in, and dies the second the ADC clicks on him.
Now, the majority of the League population thinks this is fine, but it's really not. When a champion who requires next to no effort / skill can come along and put any harder champ to SHAME, there's something wrong. Just numbers-wise, the AA spam and targeted abilities are just vastly superior. But, you know, that's what gaming has come to these days. Learning a harder champ is meaningless, and in order to win, you just need to play the most braindead champs you can imagine, who do nothing but click on people until they're dead. Notice the champs that were played at Worlds -- were any of them high-skill champions? No. They were mostly just click spammers or champions who rolled their faces on their keyboards.
So, yeah, skill isn't really a factor in League. What wins this game is overall knowledge of how champions / mechanics work, and how to macro manage better than the other team. In combat, the easier champions will always shine brighter.
Oh, and let's not forget those tanks who literally cannot die without a full team effort, but out-damage the carries. Always fun.
Welcome to modern gaming though, where incompetence and laziness is rewarded with the highest output in terms of damage, CC or whatever.
you just described that i always thought about the last 1-2 years about league. i just wasnt able to describe it like this because my english is too bad for that. thank you!
Every meta has a counter meta. We just need to identify what works as a counter to this current meta and push it hard until the meta changes.
Personally I'm liking team fight focused compositions with a lot of peeling and siege potential, but little engage. People who pick champions first typically get impatient quickly, so stalling and waiting for them to make a mistake seems to work great, rather than trying to make a play yourself. Just make sure you have the vision to stay knowledgeable about their movements.
No. Not at lower ELO.
yes and no, for instance picking darius right after juggernaut update almost guarenteed a win, due to simple mechanics and safety, or skarner for that matter. Which idk why they make a simple champ so easy to do everything. While others see a mage or assassin go flavor and get wiped all over the lane because they can't execute anything before dying.
Skill is more important in combo reliant champs that die if they screw up. Vs high sustain tanks and bruisers that can mess up and still live, that is where picks oversteps skill. As you are able to mess up vs others which can end in there death.
In now way will this ever be the way it works. A person playing an OP champion who has no skill with the champion will always do worse than someone playing a weaker champion who has a lot of skill. Skill always trumps champion. Mirror matches are a very good way to see this. The most recent game I played I was Katarina against Katarina. It doesn't matter that the enemies champion was just as good as mine because my skill was vastly superior to theirs. I know how to play against Katarina, so I knew when and how to trade. My mechanics were much better, so I was able to come out on top in trades more often than not. I know what to and what not to build on Katarina (they started will of the ancients and I started ludens) which gave me an advantage. Champion pick really doesn't matter unless you are of equal or greater skill.
