Cassiopeia tips?

I'm trying to get into playing a lot of in basically every position I can mid/top/supp. Any tips or special trick for her would be helpful. The best builds/ runes for the lanes would be helpful.

Make sure you play aggressive in lane, but not too aggressive. You have to be able to chunk assassins low enough so they are too low to all in you, but you have to make sure you don't run oom doing so. Against mages you almost always win the 1v1 (a good Ryze will still beat you) assuming that you land your q's

Last, but not least, play her! You'll get the feel for what you can do in terms of damage, as well as practice hitting those key q's and using your W properly.
