Bruiser isn't a real class

Now I've seen a lot of people saying that "bruisers are OP" and "nerf bruisers" but I don't think such a class exists. I could be wrong, just being an Unranked noob, but according to this post, there are no such things as "bruisers". It is a list of all the classes and subclasses in League of Legends and bruiser fits none of them since it contains everything from Wardens to Assassins. Not to mention, it was posted by a Riot employee.

These are all the champions I've seen people refer to as bruisers: Jax Hecarim Shen Vayne Yasuo MasterYi Poppy Zed Fizz Ezreal Graves Talon Vi Udyr Tristana Shaco Sion Singed Pantheon Olaf Jayce Irelia Kalista Ekko DrMundo Galio Amumu Evelynn

The only thing in common that all "bruisers" have in common is that they're hated and despised by over half the community as they are only mentioned in posts pleading to gut them. Basically, bruiser describes every champion that isn't purely a Controller (Enchanter subclass), or for older terminology, a Mage Support.

TL;DR Use clarity and real class names, don't be stupid.

I think Bruiser is a term that was never an ACTUAL thing in LoL, but is a commonly used one in the Moba world so people do often use the term.

If people could just use the subclasses Riot assigned them, we could avoid a lot of confusion. Yes. But I doubt that's gonna happen.

It's never gonna happen honestly.

Yup.

Keep in mind that a champion doesn't have to strictly fall into just one sub-class. Even sub-classes aren't unbreakable molds that clearly define every champion. It would be more correct to use these terms when describing a specific champion type but then you'd have to specifically know what kind of skills define a sub-class.

I main a champion that's a hybrid between a Battlemage and a Skirmisher. Yes. I am aware.

'Bruiser' is typically used to refer to any auto-attack heavy champ that gets built with moderate offense and heavy defense. Typically one or two offensive items followed by pure tank gear. Basically non-Juggernauts that build like Juggernauts. It's a build path rather than a champ archetype.

Kog with Wit's and Rageblade into tank gear, for example, would be a Bruiser. He's still a Marksmen but he plays quite different from glass Kog.

Does it really matter how you cathegoRyze certain champions?

You expect clarity from players that make topics like "bruisers are OP"? That's a hopeless attempt. They can't even create a proper discussion, because they don't want to! These threads live from vagueness and incitement.
