I Think Leona Needs a New/Tweaked Passive

T4R, the main reason why I think this is that she receives no personal gain from her passive. She lights up a target for extra damage but has to rely on a teammate to do the damage.

I feel that this should be either scrapped or tweaked in order for her to receive some benefit. For instance, make it to where two consecutive abilities (from Leona) proc the passive. Then her OR her adc can follow up with a basic attack to deal the extra magic damage.

She's designed as a support, and as such doesn't need to provide her own passive. Also, her passive is MAJORLY strong, as in, 400 magic damage strong

Braum can proc his passive. Nami can use her passive on herself. Leona should be able too. I would ask for the damage to be toned down if they allow her to proc it herself though.

but neither of them have as strong as an engage, or the sheer lockdown power of leona.

Maybe. Their engage isn't as strong as hers but aren't that weak either.

I don't want Support Leona to be nerfed at the expense of some off role.

Yea that's what difficult about her. People want her to be able to be viable in more than one role, but the changes can also hurt her main role-support. Maybe one day they will find a decent way to make both satisfied.

If that happened it would be a weird version of Lux'es passive, dealing less damage but allowing allies to proc it for her. That would be disgusting. The damage would have to be nerfed by a lot.

That's the point. She has insane diving and lockdown power, possibly the best combination of it of any champion in the entire game. Giving her full damage potential on top of that would be completely OP so her passive gates her such that she only wants to engage when her team mates can follow up. Changing her passive would change a major part of how Leona plays.

If you want a diver with more solo power you have a ton of options: Nocturne, Illaoi, Aatrox, Shyvana, Udyr, Ekko, J4, Pantheon, Renekton, Vi, Lee Sin, Elise. Don't try to make Leona more generic because you don't like teamwork in a 5v5 game.

She could use some sort of a tweak to make her not strickly a support champ. Would be nice if she could be played more reliably in top or jungle. Maybe it's just the whole idea of a purely support champ that people like the champ but want to play them else where. Thresh, Janna, Leona and the others that seem to be stuck just in the support role I bet everyone that mains them would love to be able to take them to another lane.

Leo is quite a fun jungler I would have to say so myself. Her early clears are god awful but if you max your shield first it does the most AOE damage on jungler camps, and her ganks are god tier.

Yes she is fun to jungle in normals but you would never take her in a ranked game. I think riot should really try to make champions not stuck in one role. There are all kinds of champs that fall into this category. Why can Nautilus easily be played in Top, Jungle or support in competitive play but leona is only a support.

I know, it's Riot's stupid logic. Just like Sona mid, Leona jungle is just for fun in normals, unless you are quite good and can do well in most match ups, but I would stay away from it.

I like that they are allowing champs to have multiple roles when they release new ones or rework old ones but they could give some champs some small tweaks to get them at least viable in multiple roles.

SnugglePuggle941 votes

Yea I know but it's hard to make Leo viable in top/jg without nerfing her support role.

But that's what they get paid the big bucks for. Anyways it's a pipe dream because I really like playing Leo but I don't like supporting to much.
