PSA: For those that want to try out a build that other pro players use....

There's nothing wrong with trying something different once in a while. Like, for example, an item build that one popular player uses. If you see another player's 'unusual' build bring them a high win rate, dont just copy it and think "Oh boy time for the freelo!" Find out why the player decided to use his out-of--place build and understand the requirements needed to actually pull it off successfully.

P.S If anyone can explain to me what's so good about this build for Kennen, that would be super.

From what I see, it looks like it's purpose is for fighting against tanks, but I have no clue.

The combination of Runaan's + Wit's End and Kennen's absurdly high base attack speed means that in teamfights, Kennen can rapidly stack Marks of the Storm without even needing to cast an ability, allowing him to dramatically increase his annoying stun potential. This also works on a single champion if you are fighting in a minion wave. The Frozen Mallet slow and Runaan's movespeed passive make it difficult for enemies to run away from him, which is, again, made all the more annoying by the repeated ministuns from his W passive. Wit's End's Magic Resist and Frozen Mallet's HP makes him significantly more durable. Finally, Wit's End's magic resistance shred increases his spells' and Wit's End's own On-Hit damage considerably, while Frozen Mallet increases the damage that his W On-Hit deals, and the Runaan's crits increase the damage that Frozen Mallet provides.

Tl;dr: It's a bunch of small, but potent, effects that all synergize with each other and his kit.

EDIT:

It's more of a duelist and splitpush build, since it lets him be surprisingly tanky and still dish out decent damage, and the attack speed lets him take towers down.
