Would You pay Monthly for 20 Ping?

So I got the highest internet my provider offers, and it says my ping can be as low as 30. . . .

Now, Im playing LoL and my ping in game is 77-80

Like come on RITO!

I'd pay you guys 3.95 a month for a better ping and I am sure a lot of other players would also! Make this an option?

77-80 is litterally nothing though.

How to be spoiled 101.

You'd need a separate server for such subscribers though. I'd be a bit worried that by doing this they would neglect the regular servers even more.

lol they can't. They are working on a central server right now if you live in central/east coast :)

Key word here is "can", it CAN be as low as 30. That doesn't mean it will. If you're like me and live in the middle of nowhere on the east coast, then you have 1 ISP and their highest package advertises with a line similar to that one. In reality where most servers are on the west coast with a few dedicated servers in the east depending on the size of the game, you sit at around 90-110 with random spikes into the 300 range and there's nothing you can do about it.

You can't just magically lower your ping by paying RITO, it's your ISP and the sheer amount of distance the data needs to travel to get to the servers and back.

My ping is usually 110. I honestly don't start being able to tell a different until it gets to 200.

So no. I wouldn't pay for lower ping.

Yeah I would

I'd easily pay $20/month if I actually got a ping under 30 all the time.

Wow. You know nothing of servers. Lol. Okay. Server towers 101. The further you are away from a server tower the higher ping you'll have. What your ISP means is that if you live near the tower that is sending you the data to play your game, then that'll be your ping. But you probably don't. So that's why. Also Riot IS trying to set up with their own network so that generally people will have lower pings in more rural areas. I live in Oklahoma and get about 94 to 114. Now since my ISP sends my data (this process is called ping), all the way to the server tower in California, I have a relatively higher ping. If RIOT had their game data in the tower here in Oklahoma, My ping would be much lower. Probably 40 ish if I was lucky. So it isn't your ISP or RIOTS fault. They just can't move towers around to please everyone. This is why pros all live in cali. Low ping.

I used to get 7-13 ping. Where i lived (California - Anaheim Hills). People thought i was connected directly to the servers

Chaotic Reks4/17/2015, 1:51:54 PM1 votes

so more p2w?

Shroom Junkie4/17/2015, 1:52:02 PM1 votes

My ping is normally 60-70, and any lower I can't even tell the difference. For that matter, I can't tell the difference until about 110-130, and that's just barely.

How exactly do they say this? I have never, ever seen a residential ISP promise a certain ping to any particular site or service.

BTW, speed does not affect ping like you think it does. If you are paying for the highest internet package, you are likely wasting your money if it is a low ping you desire.

It's mostly infrastructure causing this stuff. Keep in mind Riot literally just posted about the NA Server Roadmap, which appears to be coming along nicely, albeit slowly. After this Phase 2 is done, then they can move to Phase 3, which involves a more centralized server location.
