Youre on the right track with this Riot.
Despite all the super negative and juvenile people on the boards who like to bash everything I would just like to say you're on the right track with the ranked changes riot!
I especially liked this quote "When we looked at our current arrangement of ranks, we found some of our tiers encompass a wide skill range or have too many players—most notably Bronze, Silver, and Diamond." Yes absolutely! Ive been saying this over and over! I have so many one sided games! Admittedly I suck some games, but mostly I am often paired with teammates who are clearly not even close to my skill level and whom are completely uncarriable. I lose sometimes, but when most of my teams have people who are like 2/12/4 with like 95 farm at 25 minutes that is pretty ridiculous and they shouldn't be in games with me! Please fix this! Change your algorithm to reflect things like:
- Average farm per game.
- Average gold per game.
- Average deaths per game.
- Average damage per role expectancy
- Average assists.
Why should someone who averages 4 deaths per game, 300 farm, and 40k damage be equal rank with people who average 10 deaths per game, 100 farm, and 8k damage?!??!? Because that is where we are at in bronze and silver. It is the definition of ELO hell. The current ranking system doesn't, as you said in the article, account for personal achievement.
