An alternative to a mage rework

I heard that riot is planning on having a mage rework specifically for immobile mages because they're too similar and immobile. A lot of the immobile mages are not popular today mainly because people say that them lacking mobility is so bad. My idea is how about a nerf the distance to almost all mobility abilities (maybe by the exact same amount or percent)? By nerfing most of them I don't think it would change the outcome mobile vs mobile champion fight, but change the immobile vs mobile outcome. Sounds cool?

Immobile mages aren't getting a pass because they're underpowered (just look at how strong Brand was just a little while ago), they're getting tweaks because a) many immobile mages tend to be a bit too similar to each other in terms of contributions, which makes it difficult for them to stand out individually unless they're really above the average power curve (Brand is an example, as are some other mages like Annie, Fiddlesticks or Zyra), and b) the mages being targeted lack unique contributions relative to all mages, which means that mobile mages, no matter how much you nerf their mobility, can end up doing similar stuff to immobile mages, with the added advantage of more advantageous positioning. This isn't really a balancing issue, this is a design issue, and the immobile mage pass is likely going to take some generic power out of the affected champions, and instead shift it towards stuff only they can do.

what riot would do. is nerf mobile mages. then buff immobile mages. without buffing back the mobile mages. but mobility is fun idk why they have to mess with it. just buff mobile mages. they just need better itemization. actualy all mages do since pretty much everyone buys the same items.
