Those team comps suck.

EtoTekai3 votes

Doesnt matter man. 4 people on the team dislike anything but those choices, which is not communicating which is reportable and a bannable offense.

Better make sure you whole team is happy with your pick or your banned. League has about 20~ champs this season.

Are you referring to the singed support that was banned? The singed support that spent his games roaming and counterjungling and not building sightstone or any other support items and essentially was not a support other than the queue role he picked?

EtoTekai3 votes

Support doesn't have a true defined role. thats kind of what we are making a scene about. He chose to support his team by counter jungling.

Flaherty2 votes

If support doesn't have to be defined then none of the other roles have to be. Are you saying you'd be okay if, for example, your jungler decided to spend most of the game in lane with your bot lane because he wanted to be a more supportive role? Or top and mid both want to roam both sides of the jungle all game?

The thing is commanding that support must stay at certain place and buying sighstone is forcing META and Riot's rules explicitly say you can't be banned for playing off-meta. He IS getting baned for playing off-meta. They should've made their rules clear.

Also, funny thing would be whether he would be threated same way If he played Bard. Literally roaming support. Or is CertainlyT only person who can f*ck with META?

CT didn't make bard

if bard didn't build sight stone and ignored his lane on purpose then he should be reported

theArtifacts2 votes

Exactly. If support bard takes Smite and just goes counter jungling all game you can count on him being reported and potentially banned.

1) Here we are again. His lane? That means bot? I am fine with it, but it enforces META and you can't get banned for playing offmeta (their words not mine). 2) How do you measure ignoring lane? Can I measure by my means that I lost my lane because jungler was ignoring my lane by not ganking enough? #blameitonthejungler. Or is "visiting lane" measured by the system that he goes botlane once in X minutes regardless of what he does? "Hello ADC and bye again, can't say I ignore your lane now". Yet again, not my problem, but it's pitty to get banned because the one deciding thought you could pay more attention to particular lane.

3) Sight stone isn't only ward type. Indeed, I do buy it for its efficiency. But If Support can be banned for not prefering this type of ward why can't I ban my ADC for picking inefficient champion, building inefficient items. Again who decides how efficient is (even full AP Riven, despite not scaling, can use particular items particular way) something to be allowed? It's bannable until pros do it? I mean it might get youtubers like brofresco banned which wouldn't be that bad.

  1. I am smelling "Take it into Normals" argument incoming. Yeah, then Ranked shoould have specific ruleset stating off-meta isn't welcomed here.

The player isn't to be blamed more than Riot for being unable to decide whether they want or do not want meta freedom.

It's not them enforcing the meta. It's them enforcing Role Assignment.

Bard's still get rage from their teams for roaming.

No one has an issue with a support roaming, the issue is leaving the adc to fight 2 ppl alone.

A support can roam, he/she just needs to time their roams and have a specific goal with the roam.. Like warding the enemies blue, helping the jungler take on something/someone, or helping mid. Those are a few examples of reasons supports will roam.

This is from a Support Main.

Bard is designed to fulfill that role though. And there's paying off meta with a champion that can still perform his role decently well and then there's someone playing like full attack speed soraka jungle which will fail in most instances. There's a difference between playing an underused champion in a role and playing an off meta champion that is designed against a certain type of playstyle and is a detriment to your team in almost every case. Singed support is not the problem, he has cc and tankiness and I would be okay having one bot lane if he plays well, but he's playing that champion in a way that is more detrimental to the team than it could ever be beneficial. Using bard as an example, he is designed to roam because he can leave heals in lane, gets a speed up and experience for chimes, can easily come back into lane with his tunnel and has a very long range ult that can help the laner if he gets in trouble. Singed has no legitimate means of returning after a roam other than just walking back or using his ult to run back kind of faster and has no way to help a teammate from a distance.

Well based on what they said, he seemed to still perform well. However true, Singed kit isn't very pro it.

Flaherty1 votes

I've just heard he has a good winrate with singed in general, how did he perform playing this kind of way?

Yeah the one that explained to his team exactly what he was doing before the gmae even starts. the one that has 2million mastery points on singed. The one that has a winrate greater than 50% with him. Just because someone isnt doing what the meta is he shouldnt be punished to bad riot only wants us to do exactly what they want and play lame champs that arent even fun anymore.

Beldair1 votes

Incorrect since I play Rumble Support, Mordekaiser Support, and Renekton Support...

If riot was like you said, I would have a ban right now.. But I don't.. How odd then.

Oh that is right, Riot stated the Singed was being detrimental to his team..which he was.

Flaherty1 votes

Just because you are good and experienced using a champion in one role and playstyle doesn't mean you are good/experienced/not a detriment to your team in a playstyle that is designed against the kit of the champion you're using. Are the majority of his games with singed using that playstyle? I honestly don't know.

Flaherty1 votes

I have a friend that plays a lot of Galio support, a pick that is very against the meta, yet he has not been punished a single time for it. What other people are saying is true, non meta pick doesn't automatically mean you'll get banned. Off meta pick and being a constant detriment to your team because you're purposefully playing in a way that is more harmful than helpful for the sake of "doing what I want to do" is punishable.
