I'd really appreciate if I'd stop being matched into games with and against Silvers, Golds, Platinums, and Diamonds.

I can tell, because every time I get in a match against a silver they stomp all of us >30s while flaming us.

Well... I'm not under 30, but I am bronzie trash (well, unranked now) and with ranked starting, today I had one gold player TOTAL, as opposed to at least one a game (and plats and diamonds) so maybe they'll stop showing up in normals as they finally go back to where their MMR is WAY more representative of their skill level.

I feel you man, the preseason was really shitty for anyone under gold with all the good players in normal where their MMR was low enough to be matched with under 30s.

Just play with high-level players long enough and you'll eventually play at their level.

Take it as a chance to improve. You can't get better if you don't play against better players. Beating your baby sister at chess every time doesn't make you a good chess player, but playing against a grandmaster lets you learn how a higher skilled player does things AND you can ask questions/learn from them or see if they have any tips on how to improve.

That's what everyone always says, to learn from it. I don't understand what people expect me to learn from getting insta-killed by golds under my turret.

If you just go into saying I got fckd and leave you won't learn anything. You have to ask the right questions to get them to help you.

50% of them flame me when I ask them how they do what they do, and the rest say nothing.

all dependent on how you ask and if thats how they respond then thats someone you dont' want to learn from anyone. Just a lucky game.

I seriously doubt that at level 22 you get matched with diamonds and platinums. I could see MAYBE a gold, but if you are a legit new player you will never be against a diamond/plat player EVER. Even if you are a prodigy at the game it is impossible to be matched against diamonds and plats simply because they have more games in normals than you and more wins (their normal MMR is MUCH higher than yours if you truly are new). Also I understand Gnar can be a good champion but he is a little too complicated I feel for newer players to fully utilize him :/ I would suggest something a little less confusing like Xin Zhao or even Jarvan.

I've been matched against Platinums and Diamonds on quite a few occasions, but I'm match with silvers and golds VERY frequently. I've been on a luck streak recently, getting into legitimate matches with other >30s, but I'm obviously still peeved whenever it happens.

The only loss I see in your match history matching your complaints has a level 30 silver 4 player and the rest are >30. I even looked at your wins and losses from a day ago and still silver 4 is the highest I see. mind linking me the game(s) you are referring too?

As I've said, I've been fairly lucky recently with getting into balanced matches, and the last time I got matched with a Diamond was around a week ago. Also most of the people I'm complaining about aren't currently ranked due to the new season but I can tell what they are(were) because of their profile border. For example, Nasus from my most recent match was(is) Gold. Also, I have no idea how to link matches. So that's another reason.

Nope, one of my little brothers was a brand new player and at level 12 he was placed against a Diamond 3 player. It wasn't the first time he faced a ranked player leveling up, but it was the last because he hasn't queued since then. I'm sure the game is still listed on OP.gg as well if you want me to look for it.

Normals MMR is completely boned, because Riot says a ranked level 30 and a level 1 re-roll are equal in skill to level 10-20 players.

I find it hard to believe your brother stopped from that. If he truly was a level 12 noob he knows how quickly he can get stomped or stomp...pretty much all games under 30 are stomp or be stomped until you actually develop some game awareness. Also how did your brother know he was diamond? Pls link the opgg.

It's the game before his very last game. He was level 12 playing against the LeBlanc who is currently D3 right now on Lolking with almost 1800 normal wins. You can also see that at best he had a 50% win rate. I think he was more around 40% without bot games being factored in.

Players are going to quit when the system is shown to be unfair. After sludging through smurfs, he started running into higher level/ranked players and simply had enough. People like us would grit our teeth and just push through it, new players will just go find a 'fair' game to play.

You cannot see the enemy's borders. Yup that LB is diamond, but did you notice your brothers score? He did fine...He went positive. Also this may have been from a player not playing ANY normals for about 6 months meaning their Normal ELO dropped very far, It usually takes about 10 games to restore a somthing like that.

Update: Since the posting of this thread I still haven't been matched against an unranked lane opponent, and above half of these ranked lane opponents have flamed me.
