Help playing shaco

ok so i just bought shaco and dont know how to play him. i know there are certain times to place boxes before buffs spawn so you can solo but what is that time now? also for those demonic shaco mains any regular tips?

45 seconds is the magic time, best tip is play ad shaco, some people like thunderlords i like the crit mastery more, my prefered item path is hydra shiv infinity edge then phantom dancer or essence reaver depending on their comp boots come after tiamat usually, usually mobi boots for the longer stealth engage, it almost doubles the distance you can run while stealthed which is great for ganking. You can clone while stealthed to drop a visible "shaco" and it usually gets them to burn their cc on your clone and not you, then you pop out and give them a real suprise.

Don't buffs spawn at 1:40 and the boxes last 1 minute? So the placing time should be at 0:40?

Placing boxes in buses near mid lane is always fun and prevents ganks from the enemy jg. You can take an early buff by simply placing a box as soon as the cooldown is up. You can also use it to cover your escapes. After you ahve leveled up you can take a buff with only one box placed right before attack.

When you use your Q it is generally a good idea to come from your team's side of the map, not from the river. An experienced laner will know how to always ward the river and check for your red puff, so by coming out of the fog of war with your invisibility you can get close to them and place a box behind them, so that you can E them while they run away and then get a few more attacks in while they are fear-ed.

When playing against Shaco, you have to remember that he will generally try to take your camp right after solo-ing his own blue or red buff. This is why (I generally do this against most counter jg... I will get the two camps near the bot buff, then the rift scuttler, then the buff, because usually a shaco will rush over trying to get to you, thinking that he needs to get there in time, but he will usually get there by the time you are finished clearing the 2nd camp, so if you can get in a bush you can force him to Q the hell out of there to save his @ss, as he is not a very good dueler at even health.

Always watch out for the red cloud of smoke, and ward far away because his tleeport/stealth from his Q he cn cover great distances.
