A possible solution to the BE problem

Add a new daily quest that rewards BE for completing it. It doesn't have to be as mundane as "Win a game," it could be something unique every day. Maybe one day it's "Play 3 summoners rift games" and the next it's "Get 10 kills on PvP game modes." It's a win-win because we get some more BE and Riot gets to put the new Quest system to good use.

You aren't wrong.

But I fail to see how that's different from granting extra XP on first wins. People are going to continue being salty about this, but the reality is that Riot has to make money somewhere to maintain their growth. Yes, they bring in a lot of money, but they have to keep doing that to keep the game going.

Mathematically, it does the same thing as reward more XP from first wins. From a gameplay perspective, it adds variety to the game and (can) make(s) the grind (somewhat) more enjoyable. Also as I stated in the post it lets Riot use the new questing system more regularly rather than rely on the consistant stream of events we've coincidentally had for the past few months.

I think you could be onto something with the new questing system.

The question then becomes "Is this enough of a payoff to justify the amount of work it would be for Riot?" I'm not sure what the answer to that question is.

Well, I don't know any coding languages, but would it really be that much work for Riot? Pre-program some quests that are selected at random each day, but make sure the same quests don't appear over and over to avoid repetition.

I think there's a misconception, in general, about coding, that simple ideas translate to simple code. Many things that look very simple can be incredibly complex. In this case, we're talking about the client being able to recognize certain criteria in the game, accurately reporting that back, and properly rewarding you.

I'm not a coder, either, which is why I said I'm not really able to answer it. It's possible that it's really easy. But my tangential experience to coders (people doing work close to me, family who do) gives me a hunch that a situation like this would be substantially more difficult to code that it first appears.

Let's stop pretending they still aren't easily making millions from just skin sales alone for a sec.

Their gross income is in the billions, first of all.

But their overhead also comes out of that. What people too easily forget is that if this game stops being profitable, Riot will abandon it. I'm not asking for people to let them get away with murder; I'm asking you to allow capitalism to happen.

You don't like it when people look at your paycheck and say, "oh well, they make plenty so I can just take some of it and it's not important." That's not right. No matter the amount, no matter the percentage. It's faulty logic.

Those billions of dollars go to many Rioters who, just like any of us, have to pay bills and eat and support their families. If you're uncomfortable with them making large sums of money, then don't play the game. Pretty simple.

Just remember that all that money isn't going straight into anyone's pocket. Some of it is distributed into thousands of pockets (I'm not actually sure how many people Riot employ overall), and that's good. That's what gives them the incentive to work on the game.

I don't want this, I hate having a daily list of chores in the game that incentivize me to play it in ways other than how I want to. I have already quit several games due to similar systems.

Maybe they could try when someone finishes a game they could get experience and some BE . Perhaps the BE could vary depending how long the game lasts. And if you win maybe a small bonus.
