Taliyah's Seismic Shove...Ugh

So far, I enjoy playing the new champion. However, Taliyah's W has that delay once activated. No I'm not talking about clicking the W once and then choosing the direction. I got that part figured out. But right after you choose your direction, their is a slight delay before it eventually activates. Doing this while in the middle of a fight is slightly difficult. Yet when I actually land it and give my teammates the kill, I will be beyond satisfied with the biggest sneer. I'm just wondering how others feel about this skill :P
