'Tank shredder' Kayle?

item 3257 item 3718 item 3091 item 3085 item 3071 item 3153 Kayle

Basically a build to go against the tank meta that we're still in atm. I feel Hurricane Kayle with all these 'debuff' items + her passive could help her teammates deal with tanks a lot faster while still doing some sustained damage.

I'm pretty sure the shred on BC plus her passive would be multiplicative rather than additive. So it wouldn't be great, but somewhat serviceable. I guess the build could work, are you capping out on AS though? I think getting some AP is better than this bizarre onhit hybrid build though. It's definitely better for siege antisieges for healing.

I'm not a fan of Hurricane on her, I'd personally go Rageblade over it but that's a choice not many would make.

In this Tank meta and you needed to be ADC over picking another Tanky DPS?

Tank busters would probably be Kog and Vayne.

Thought Gnar was basically a tank/bruiser I mean that is how I have always seen him build.

Eh, I have some issues with this build:

  1. Hybrid damage is pretty solid vs. tanks to begin with. It's difficult to itemize against, as no defensive items are really geared towards countering hybrid damage. Not in the same way Omen is vs. auto-attackers or Banshee's Veil is vs. casters.

  2. 11,000 gold is the per-player average after a game. Which is essentially 3 major 3k items, 1k in boots, and 1k in the bank when a Nexus explodes. That's 1 major item for early, mid, and late game too. Ideally a build should be 3 items + boots. Also the order is massively important. You don't want 2 major items for early game.

  3. hybrid damage just don't have that hyper-carry, AD x AS x Crit x Armor pen synergy with complete, end-game builds. Hybrid is all magic damage + physical damage rather than magic damage x physical damage. Which is mostly just useful early so a fighter/tank doesn't straight counter-build you and walk all over you. Not a huge issue here, but I'd 100% remove item 3091 from this.

  4. Kayle still strikes me as an AP champion - if nothing else because Blessing is pretty useless without AP. Also AD is about twice the price of AP, so her AD/AP ratios are pretty even on her other skills. Until item 3089 comes in the picture. With item 3100, you're likely dealing more magic damage than your build as well - and MR is a little harder to come by than armor when it comes to dealing with beefy units.

  5. Flat penetration/Reduction is countered by tanks much more than it actually counters tanks. Vs. a target with 25 MR, 25 magic penetration will allow you to deal Ture Damage. Against a target with 150 MR - it won't. Break down is ~25% more damage vs. 25-0 MR compared to ~9% more damage from 150-125 MR. Increasing DPS by 25% with AD, AS, or AP will cause 25% more DPS regardless of a foe having 25 MR or 2500. Now - if you apply %pen and then flat pen you just end up with an AD/AS/AP-esque unilateral DPS boost. Wit's end is debuff-based though and will always apply before %.

So again - remove item 3091.

You'd certainly shred tanks with that build - it just seems like a sub-optimal path to go about it, and you'd probably do a better job at tank-shredding along with a stronger mid game with an alternate build.

your biggest issue would be that kayle has to engage. either yuo burn your ult and get at most 5-7 attacks (because they can't instantly target you once the buff ends) or you build tankier. another problem, runaan's doesn't work on her other than as an attack speed item

with this build, you would do a large amount of minimal sustain damage ( almost 200 physical damage - armor, then 8% of current health minus armor) then 42 magic damage, then approximately 90 damage from E, so you would be doing around 300 damage per hit at most, even squishies would require 7 hits to take out with this build, many, many more for a 5000 hp tank

if you want someone who's good against tanks, use vayne or kogmaw, my preference is kogmaw. long range engage and large portion health damage with BOTRK included.

my personal build for kogmaw is item 3508 , item 3072item 3153 item 3085 item 3006 then either item 3026 or item 3031 for burst damage instead of sustained. the item order by priority is either bloodthirster or essence reaver, boots, runaans, bloodthirster/essence reaver, BOTRK, guardian angel/infinity edge

Oh, I'm aware that this wouldn't burst something down quickly. I was just thinking it as a sort of 'debuff' build, allowing your teammates to do more damage to targets once you apply your passive+item passives onto them, while doing some sustained damage through bork+devourer+wits end. Probably only looks good on paper, but it's just something I thought of that seemed interesting to me haha.
