"Burst damage does seem like a fair reward when Anivia makes use of all the tools available to her"

Only when you use all the tools available to her in lane, you go oom in about one attempt.

Yup. That is one thing I have had issues with, as an anivia main. No one respects the amount of mana she needs to be as oppressive as she is. Ive found that item 3070 and item 3010 help her out a bit, expecially if you rush those first.

God forbid burst that has no counterplay has some sort of downside.

Since when is getting oom bevore you get the chance to kill someone counterplay? He is not talking about getting oom due to missusing your abilities. He is talking about getting oom, when you hit everything the right way, leaving you unable to kill your opponent even if you did everything correctly. (And leaving you unable to do anything in case you missed something as well)

Most champions with skillshots have the manadrain to leave space for error. Anivia did not had this oportunity and this update won't help that.

Also, this new change is not only delaying her burst, but in addition making it more manadraining.

Adding two counterplay features ontop of dodging her q and stopping her r seem kind of harsh.
