How do you get better at carryig Games ( As a jungle)?

A few people that I know have been having problems with this lately, which is the overall ace of the game and matchmaking in general. And I just got demoted to S5 form S4, not much but its tilting to me, which is why I've been thinking about the game in general. I finally got out of Bronze which took a lot of work, but I did ask for advice which was the same, farm better, don't die and I get that, I really do, and when I play Adc I try for 70 cs every 10 minutes and I usually get that or close to it. After about 25 minutes I usually stop farming though because it always ends up as an ARAM in my games. I've also been told to play smaller number of champions which I kind of do. When I feel like grinding for lp, which is recently I play ADC( Jinx, Jhin, and if those are banned whatever counters my laner), JG( Kayn and warwick, but ive started to play evelyn). I do good as a support but I want to leave the bot lane because 1. its a clusterfuck down there

  1. If my adc sucks ( cant cs, trade, or even live), theres only so much I can do if im ot playing a damage support.
  2. If im adc and my support sucks ( goes in 1v2, doesn't trade, takes cs) my goal switches from farming to hugging tower so the enemy adc doesn't get more fed.

Recently I've been trying to climb again, and as a jg when I've noticed that I cant carry as easily. If you look at my match history( as you probably will), before you tell me to farr better and die less, I know. I'm working on it. But my mentality in the bot llane is usually, my team will feed, I have to carry, and this support is useless ( which is half the time). I hate games where I get carried because I its so boring, but at the same time when the other team has a fed hyper carry (yasuo, zed, etc.) there's little I can do to carry the game. Sorry for rambling, let me get to the point. I'll be jg most of the time as eve or kayn as my priorities are to oneshot the enemy carries. My reason for this is that even if I have the most brain dead team ( and lets face it, if you go 2/12 in 20 minutes I feel like it shouldn't be a surprise when your team hates you), if I can oneshot that fed adc or zed or yasuo, my team can probably pull through. In the event that we have no tank, I go warwick, but I have more fun playing eve and kayn.

That should give you my perspective on things. Now I've always had a problem with macro management. I usually get the scuttles and can pull of decent ganks. But if all lanes are feeding, and continue to play bad, idk who to prioritize. I usually help out bot or mid, because they have a better chance of teamfighting, but my last game ( at the time of writing this) I couldn't even gank bot lane because my bot lane fed a draven 5 kills early. If I tried to go for a gank, I'd basically get oneshot as I was playing eve. Even if thresh landed a hook, they had a morg so it would be useless. Our Lucian was 2/9 at the end of the game. I'm not saying every game is like that, but I would like to know how to actually carry when my whole team loses lane. And while I do decent in the botlane I don't want to play adc anymore because I know that I will never be good enough at managing laning with fighting. I prefer to just solo and that's easier for me in the jg. So any tips for me would be greatly appreciated, and sorry again for rambling, this is how I detilt.

One thing you can do is purchase Star Wars Battlefront II (2005) and play test my Galactic Conquest system with me. It won't make you a better jungler, but you sure would make my day, and have some fun in the process.

I love Star Wars (Knights of the Old republic was the best!). But EA has ruined it so bad just hearing Battlefront makes me upset.

Battlefront 2 (2005) is still a great game. If you have it, and enjoy galactic conquest, should hit me up.

You're picking slow champs. Both Evelynn and Kayn are pretty gimped until they get their invis or transformation

Warwick you're building wrong. By level 3 you can fight most champs and gank, but you skill up Q 2nd rather than E 2nd, and get item 1413 rather than item 1412. Rush item 3077 and item 3751 to speed farm and lets you duel any other jungler really well with durability and damage. You want a high HP pool on WW so you can fight longer and have your lifesteal kick in to outlast the other guy rather than glass cannon instaburst w him. item 3057 items are super shit on him, dont even bother. Relies on Q spam when you should be levelling W first and they're also too expensive. Big HP + item 3748 should be more than enough to burst carries

Lots of variance in the jg, but most often to carry a game in the jg before your laners feed out of control, you need to have an impact much sooner than you hit level 6. With jg exp being super nerfed that means you'd need to invade to take out the other jungler either by killing them or forcing them back and taking their camps. This will:

  1. Be easier to gank than a solo laner who is a level up on you, or into the duo bot
  2. Prevent ganks on your team when their jungler is tied up
  3. Give you exp and gold you wouldnt normally have by just clearing your side, which lets you catch up in levels to the solo laners

Once you do this by level 3-4 the enemy jungler should be a level down making every gank, countergank or invade in your favor. This season the jg is super oppressive that once one side's jungler is stronger they take everything and the other side becomes useless

I'll definitely try that out on Warwick. Do you have any recommendations for assassin junglers? Other than yi since he banned a decent amount.

This is a good guide to low elo jungling! The only thing missing here is how to close out games.

Gank the lane with the lowest hp enemy tower. Take it. And then rotate across the map. Destroy all the tier 1 turrets before moving on to tier 2. (Note: if your top gets their tier 1 and decides to keep splitting top to flex his lead on his lane let him do that while you work over other lanes.)

Destroy all the tier 2 turrets before moving to inhib turrets. (Note: this is when most low elo throws happen. Teams stop pressuring lanes. Thinking its in the bag simply because of a gold advantage. Keep pressure on the lanes. If no one else is pressuring another lane buy a zzrot)

Destroy the inhib > getting other inhib turrets. (Note in silver elo teams that get the first inhib have a 63% win rate teams that get 2 inhibs have an 92% win rate in low elo most teams FF after the first inhib so make that a priority.)

This is called the lawn mower method and it works well.if you want more details watch videos from Danyon Togia he breaks down jungling incredibly well. And gives indepth guides to the basics as well as champions he also takes requests.

as a jungler in silver just trying to improve with small things:

  1. learn pathing or find a path that works well for you. dont just idle in the jungle, always be doing something whether its farming or objective pushing.
  2. play carry champions. if your getting ahead and your team isnt. it would be wise to start choosing champions that can win team fights(like graves, amumu and sej), or split push and secure objectives easily (like jax, yi or udyr)
  3. Even though it tilts your laners, especially in lower elo, DO NOT BE AFRAID TO TAX. its important xp and gold that your missing out on as a jungler and it helps keep you ahead of the other jungle. dont tax too much though, and if your already ahaead, let your laners farm.
  4. play splits. play three or fours games in a row. if you win two out of three of them or three out of five, keep playing. if you dont, stop playing for one or two hours because even if you dont feel tilted, inside you most likely are fairly tilted and you will subconsciously play more reckless. if you lose four out of five games in a row, you might not want to play for the day or time of day either due to a bad day for teams or an un focused mind set.

and last but most important 5. DONT BE GREEDY a kill is not worth a death. if you might die for a kill, dont go for it. stay ahead by keeping them behind. unless you losing the game, risky plays simply are not worth it.

i hope this helps. these are simple steps but very important to try and constantly do well in games

Yeah I try to avoid dying for kills, but if my team goes in I go in too. Should I leave them if I think it isn't worth it, or try engaging and see what happens?

zackthebaka1 votes

if its one person and you have shut down gold on you, let them die. if its your whole team, then you follow up, even if its a bad idea, but its not like your going to be able to do alot against a 1v5 anyways.

Got it thanks!

Well, uh.... When every lane loses lane and the enemy jungler hasn't been ganking then there's really nothing you can do about it.

But if the enemy jungler is a part of why lanes are losing you can try to put them behind by farming their jungle on the opposite side of the map where they are ganking, or by counter-ganking when they move to gank a nearby lane. Also keeping track of the enemy jungler is a big part of things, so if you can safely place a deep ward in their jg that's super useful.

Here's a list of things you can do:

  1. Keep track of the enemy jungler, know where they are as best you can so you can out-play them on the macro level.
  2. When they are near one of your lanes, decide what to do based on several factors:
  • If they are even with you in farm/items and you are nearby, position yourself so that you can countergank
  • if they are more fed and you aren't sure if you can take them in a fight, ping danger for your nearby lanes and let them know the jungler is near.
  1. Also if you are on the opposite side of the map from the enemy jungler, take their jungle camps as often as possible. This will put them behind and tilt them.

Sometimes it helps to get a snowball rolling if you start in their jungle to begin with. You and your top laner can usually start the enemy buff on the top-side of the map, provided that nobody is guarding it and you don't get seen on your way to it. It's better than starting your own buffs because afterwards you can go back to your jungle and secure both your buffs.

I used to main jungle, that's where I got all this from. I hope it helps, let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks for the advice, and I agree on everything, except with the notion that my teammates listen to my pings. For example, when mid roams a lot and pings mia, bot lane will still die and flame. As for stealing jg camps, I'll start to do that more consistently. But how do do I prevent that from happening to me?

zackthebaka1 votes

wards and teamplay. if you cant trust your team to come, live with the loss and either gank or try to steal from them. might be smart to not steal if your behind though.

reaper40421 votes

ok will do

HalcyonDweller1 votes

Teammates are often blind to the visual and audio queues of simply pinging Mia in the lane where the enemy disappeared from. So I prefer to ping danger somewhere that I know will be visible on-screen for the players I'm trying to warn, often in the direction I think the danger will come from.

As for keeping camps from being stolen, the only thing you can directly do is to keep track of the enemy so you know if they could be in your jungle. When you can collapse on them with your teammates it's like ganking them, and works really well. When I know they're in my jungle and its across the map from me, I try to do something that will help me keep up in gold and XP with them, so either ganking if I think a gank will be successful, or counter-invade their jungle across the map and steal something too, that way they can put you behind or get ahead of you with gold and XP.

Low elo games are the worst. And lately silver game quality has really taken a hit for some reason its like they started letting all the bronzies in.

That being said the only reliable win condition in low elo is split pushing as team fights are mechanically intensive and could go either way regardless of which side the fed player is on.

Sadly season 8 took alot of power away from the jungler and your ability to dictate game flow is crippled. So playing a kill carry jungler like Kanye and Eve in low Elo is not ideal. As you will only ever climb when you have teammates who know how to monopolize after you kill someone. This never happens in low elo so play a jungler who can 1v1 and push objectives. Tryndamere MasterYi Jax Udyr After you hit gold you can start looking to work assassins back into your chqmp pool as Gold players will recognize the opportunities that come with a dead opponent.

TL:DR

  1. Know your win conditions
  2. Play easier freelo champs
  3. Carry yourself out by focusing turrets not kills.

Will definitely look at the splitpushing junglers. And yeah eve is only good for me at 30+ minutes
