@riot pls make a 1v1 mode and ladder. it WILL be popular !
the reason i prefer summoners rift for 1v1, over howling abyss, is that summoners rift offers alot more map features for 1v1 jukes and outplays once towers start falling. and its totally possible on summoners rift to do "run-farm" tactics with like singed or riven or something to comeback into the game if you died early. you cant do that on howling abyss
heres how the 1v1 will work. theres 3 1v1 modes
top/mid 1v1 (all champs)
and bot 1v1, marksmen only (maybe not teemo. would be too op)
in the 1v1 mode, no jungle monsters will spawn. no baron/rift/skuttle. and only minions in 1 lane will spawn.
in champ select, the lower MMR player gets to select if he wants to counterpick or blindpick. and in top/mid 1v1 he selects if he wants it to be toplane or midlane it is then revealed to the enemy what lane was selected, and what pickmode was selected. then picks are done
in counterpick. enemy picks first. low MMR counterpicks in blind pick. both blindpick. if different champs are selected, matchup is locked in. if same champion is selected, then lower MMR decides if he wants to give or take champ. if he gives champ, enemy gets the champ and lower MMR counterpicks. if he takes champ, the enemy gets to counterpick
with this pick system. in blind pick you can garuntee yourself a champion (if you wanted riven), with small risk of enemy possibly getting to counterpick you and in counterpick, you are not garunteed a champion, your enemy could take riven if you wanted riven, however you will always give yourself the power to counterpick
after champions are locked in. players have 120 seconds to setup runes/masterys and lock in. reason for 120 seconds is i think all runes should be enabled.
for 1v1. im thinking all runes should be enabled/free (just in 1v1 mode at least lol), and you should be able to quickly/easily design your rune page in the 1v1 champ select.
at first i was thinking runes should be disabled. but nah. runes offer a fun way to customize your champion and make the mode more fun. and it offers more room for strategic expression
however if runes are enabled, then they certainly should 100% be available and free to everyone (in 1v1) and you should be able to make your runepage in champ select
also. im thinking possibly in 1v1 mode, every champion should definitely be enabled for everyone for free, this would give people a cool way to test champs before buying. and champs should surely be free to make 1v1 mode not feel broken
im still not sure about summoners. im thinking allow all summoners, but maybe summoners should be disabled if its found fiora with ignite+exhaust just beats everything. but nah, im thinking allowing all summoners should be fine. i think skill will win in the end. and summoners will be a fun way to express skill
in 1v1 mode. you can FF after first death. and first person to FF or lose their nexus will lose the game. im sure many comeback games will be won after firstblood with lategame tactics
have ranked 1v1 and unranked 1v1 ladder also. possibly allow low level players to play 1v1 in the ranked 1v1 ladder. letting low level players have a fun ranked feeling while levelling. and also let all low level players have access to all summoners in the ranked ladder
also. i was thinking of having a 1v1 bot support mode. but no way. that would reduce the amount of supports that queue for ranked. but a 1v1 adc mode seems dank.
im sure supports will play the 1v1 top/mid mode for fun and go supports in those lanes. for fun. but meh. i just think creating the 1v1 support mode would be bad cuz less supports to queue for real games
