SO i was 4 man q ing with my friends and our ranks were s1, s3, gold 5 going into his promos for g4 and another g5. the extra man was an unranked and he said he only played two ranked games. so idk why an unranked is getting paired with golds and silvers. please fix riot. Its unfair that we got paired like that
Everyone's MMR is set somewhere in silver at the beginning of their ranked games, and they go up or down depending on who they beat.
He might be set in gold, he might be set in low silver.
Starting MMR is 1200(around silver 3-2), you can raise it to 1400 with only 4-5 wins if you do well in placements and that would already match you with mid-gold players. With only 2 wins and no losses you'd be at 1290 or something which would definitely match you with silver 1-low gold 5 players.
