Advice climbing out of Silver 2

I've been to Silver 2 multiple times, and peaked around 90LP. After a certain point, I just fall back down into Silver 3 and have to re-climb back out.

I don't know what else I can do, or try. I mainly use Thresh Braum Nautilus Blitzcrank Alistar Karma Lulu Malphite

I have tried other roles as well, but cannot seem to carry as much. I usually end up doing something that costs the game, or there comes a point in the late game where it is harder to get a kill.

I would like some advice from higher ELO support mains on what they do that keeps them climbing. I know it is also a team effort, and not only on the support. That being said, I do try to build around the team based on champ select, as well as into the enemy team.

*Disclaimer, I have already been told "you can't carry as support, and to find another role". I don't believe that to be true.

Thanks,

You can carry as support. Do you have all the basics down, look up good places to ward for each objective and point in the game, how to zone in lane and what zones of control mean.

Also look up guides for all your champions, often you'll find extra tricks for your champions to utilize in matchups and most guides also tell you what you should be doing with them at most points in the game (early mid and late).

If you can I reccomend douing with an adc as it makes communication soo much better in bot lane and you also know exactly what to expect from your lane partner.

Honestly I'm just getting back into ranked. I always start every season around silver and end up gold 1 or low play. I just never play the game consistently and it ends up losing all LP

Personally, despite being a good player, I really think it's all about trying to keep your team positive and motivated to win. I swear to god my game yesterday if you watch the replay, top lane Shen goes 0/3/0 by 4 minutes in the game. He starts saying it's GG, it's over..etc. the both lane gets killed and starts arguing that one or the other is an idiot. Our jungle complains that he can't farm. I think I spent more time typing trying to reassure the team that it's okay, it's fine that they fed, that we can still pull through.

Personally, deep down we should have lost but I was able to get ahead of the Ahri to the point I was 9/0/0 and we kinda just kept picking them off while making sure that no one fights

My point is, as long as you can win your lane, I think the biggest thing is to keep your cool and make sure no one goes bat *** crazy

Although it isn't true that you can't carry as a support, it is much harder than other roles unless you do just damage supports. Like I play almost exclusively Janna when I get autofilled, I have over a 5 kda on her and a 60 something% win rate even though I am only low plat and my coach and friends who are in diamond use to tell me you can't carry as a Janna in low plat. Why? Well in low plat the mechanics and game knowledge aren't high enough to allow a Janna to usually carry because she does nearly no damage and mainly displaces the enemy to protect her carries. The only reason I do well with Janna is that I still get a competent damage carry and even then I need to play a very clean game to keep that carry alive because people in plat still make a lot of mistakes.

Carrying as support in silver is far harder with nearly all the champs you shown because you lack damage, and with the low quality of mechanics in silver, you can't rely on being able to only support them and have a consistent win rate.

"you can't carry as support, and to find another role" Utility is very OP at higher Elo. Supports are OP starting in high plat / diamond.

Sadly, until then, and particularly in Bronze/Silver, utility champ are useless. Ward won't bring much, most players won't use them anyway. Same for a good Karma shield or a good Alistar combo.

If you don't want to play carry champ... the only solution I see for you is to find a good ADC to duo with. An ADC that can use your good support skill, and both of you can carry. Out-cs your opponents in bot, put some wards and don't get killed, get first blood turret and then rotate mid, get drakes...
