you ranked yourself up?

I heard that Platinum is the highest rank you can be put in after your first placements.

FUNNY coincidence because everyone I see that people on youtube that are expert league players consider "elo hell" are all in platinum.

Here I'll be honest right now, I knew nothing about this game back at the beginning of S6 and when I starting playing ranked because ALL I played was Kennen I was placed in Silver I even though my skill level on just the game is way below that. Now I'm in Silver III and dropping, that tells you where my skill level is.

I'd say most players gold+ ranked up themselves. I did.

Its very hard to get placed in plat your first time around. You would literally need to be a diamond+ player and 10/0 placements on a new account to get placed in plat.

Plat 1/2 and Diamond 5 are 'hell' for a very different reason than in low elo. It has nothing to do with placements. I can promise you none of those players had any issues whatsoever in mid or low plat.

i dont know if you can even place plat on a fresh account. the highest ive seen on video was gold 1. maybe plat 5 is possible but i dont think anything above that is possible even going 10-0.

I went 7/3 on an new account and got gold 2.

I feel like they get info from somewhere. I'm certain I would have gotten p5 atleast had I gone 10/0.

gosu, who has accounts in challenger and masters and diamond got placed g3 earlier in the season and went 9-1. BUT, i think earlier on in the season its harder to place higher with everyone crunched between b5 and p1.

i was placed g4 this season, very happy with that.

the highest rating you can be placed is p1, but usually its just the challenger/masters players that get placed there, the rest of diamond gets placed into mid plat.

originally i ranked up all the way from s4 in season 4 + 5. in season 6 i was placed silver 1. but i climbed through gold in each of those seasons.

plat IS elo hell because its IMPOSSIBLE to rank up without kicking an existing diamond player out, which is near impossible if they're playing solely to avoid relegation, it creates an MMR sink hole in which it essentially just feeds the top of the challenger ladder making this huge gap for no reason, right around the plat 2 - d5 border.

I got placed in bronze 3 and immediately dropped to b5 with 0 lp in season 5, currently I am plat 2, so I think i ranked up myself

I don't know if it has changed, but in season 3 and 4 my friend on completely fresh accounts got placed in plat 1 and diamond 1 by going 9-1 and 10-0 respectively.
