Best way to beat Kog is to have effective zone control and engage/disengage tools.
I think Rakan is a pretty good example:
Dash in, hit Kog - he presses w, hos team uses some peel. Dash back out, wait for w/shields to fall off, then engage, hard
Kog is basically worthless without W up, and if you can bait out some meaningful peel while you're at it his team has nothing left.
I don't know why the boards are freaking out so much about that one game, diving head first into kog was never the answer to a protect-the-kog comp - the answers are poke, when it's strong, rotations when it isn't (the team's effective rotation speed is limited by kog'waddle, as the rest of such a comp has poor damage), and just kinda playing and moving around Kog and his W.
Set the terms of the fight, and set them as something other than "Run face-first into Kog with his W up and his full team peeling him. That can work if you have a big gold advantage and a solid dive comp
but it's always risky as hell to just run at Kog and try to outdamage him - it basically the teamfights equivalent of a base race.
