Fizz needs work

I'm not complaining about his damage output, kit, or scaling. Although he does scale ridiculously well, I understand that e is an assassin so that is his job, do ridiculous amounts of damage to the squishies behind enemy lines. My problem with him is his low-risk, high-reward style of play. This is what makes him overpowered in my opinion. What I mean by this is that he can jump into a team fight, kill multiple enemies, and escape nearly if not totally untouched. A typical Fizz scenario in mid-late game: Fizz ults an enemy in the middle of the enemy team during a teamfight. The ult goes off, dealing at least half of the adc's, mid's, and usually support's health in damage. The tanks (assuming the jg and top are building tanky) lose about a third of their health. Fizz then uses his W and usually kills off the adc/mid. The enemy team tries to hit him with a Dark Binding/Aqua prison/ dredge line/ etc. but Fizz uses E to evade all the attacks while his teammates are doing damage this whole time as the enemies target Fizz. He hops to safety and dashes away with his Q to ensure that absolutely nobody can even touch him. On the chance that the tankier enemies survived the burst and chase after him, maybe even hitting him a couple of times, Fizz just zhonyas as his team gets there, uses his E again on the enemies, and dashes away again before the dying enemies can do anything. And just like that, there's an ace. I think his E should be changed to where he doesn't take damage but can still be cc'd. That would make it to where a Fizz can't just initiate a teamfight and come out unscathed. It would add some actual risk to playing him. It also wouldn't hurt to nerf his W because frankly, that stacking damage from his passive and active on the ability is ridiculous.

I don't have much problem with him late game. The usual real "problem" is when he is fed, but that's a different issue as he has more gold/items/levels then you so he can easily 1v1 anyone. Assassins are MEANT to blow up a squishy target, so if he couldn't 1v1 you he wouldn't really fulfill his role. His E, while allowing him to dodge damage, can be avoided with dashs/flashes, requiring him to use his flash as well just in order to land the E damage. For an ADC, you can get QSS to make it so if his ult hits you, you can brush it off and walk out of it. For AP champions, you can Zhonya's his Ult, negating its damage to you. He actually has some decent counterplay compared to some other assassins and he requires more risk to pull off, as if he makes a mistake and doesn't actually get the kill when he goes in, he will usually die.

It's not just damage, his kit is overloaded. His Ult slows heavily, then nukes with a 1.0 AP ratio, knocks up the champion, and hits surrounding champions. His grievous wounds almost never actually matters.

Bullying him in lane is only a small part of his counterplay. You can zhonyas his ult or qss and the fish falls off your champ rendering it useless. That is a massive chunk of his damage. Fizz has no wave clear except his e, which also happens to be his escape tool. Ward where is he farming wait until he uses e to clear the wave then engage on him. Even at max rank you have roughly 7-8 seconds to force a flash or burst him down. Most fizz players don't prioritze magic penetration. Meaning picking up an early negatron cloak will reduce his damage significantly. Also I commonly see people stay around a fizz or continue to try and trade with only 35-40% of their health remaining. He gets stronger as you have less health. You will trade favorably at first, but extended trades is where he shines. Just go heal if you can't all in him. All assassins snowball easy, all assassins want to roam, all assassins are mobile.

fizz needs some better counterplay not a nerf the proper counterplay to fizz is to bully him in lane but you wont see that executed propertly below plat or maybe even diamond if you faile the bullying fizz can easily kill you pre 6 (stand one steep too close, miss a skillshot , he can capitalize one every little thing )

Some good things in the posts above me. I do not often have issues against fizz myself, despite maining someone who is considered hard countered by him (anivia). The main reason is that I have played the matchup a ton and understand how to not die to him. That's really all that there is to beating most fizzes- DO NOT die to him in lane. If you do that and keep a good eye on where he is, he has a very tough time scaling up. I agree that he's quite hard to pin down in teamfights, but unless your team is behind or has no CC, you should be able to beat him in one as long as you're ahead. This is particularly true because a whole lot of low-mid level fizzes decide to max w>e>q or at best e>w>q, both of which give them significantly lower mobility than the most common high elo order, e>q>w

Pretty sure he was already nerfed long ago. Then I think they only buffed his w a little bit once they nerfed Lich Bane/Sheen items, among other small buffs on certain champs that are dependent on Lich Bane.
