Why does yasuo have turret safety when he ult?
As if this champion wasn't already toxic and unfun to play against enough?

Because his ult is one of the very, very few you can't stop yourself that's on a melee champion.
I mean, it really sucks ass to take 2-3 turret shots (Which can be up to 80% of your health at level 6) because you're blinked to just inside the enemy turret range, and you can't actually stop it.
I agree Yasuo can be a Little obnoxious to Play against int lane sometimes, yet easily beatable since his kit is not designed for the laning Phase at all. Yet to answer your question. Turret aggro only applies on Champions when applying damage to another Champion, hence Yasuo ult is not applying any damage whily ulting he doesnt get turret aggro.
Yasuo was my most killed this year so you will see me in every yasuo complaint thread asking why are people complaining.

If I had to guess Riot wanted to avoid him getting shot by the turret as he is Ulting. Probably because they think it is unfun and unfair for the Yasuo player I guess?
Maybe it's only me but from what I've experienced actually playing yasuo, it doesn't put in him turret safety, he actually can decide where he puts himself when he presses R (in a small circle around the target).
It's not some anti-noob safety net, it's him using his ult and having a small degree of control in where he put's himself. And I know this since I've used his ult to put me under turret deliberately so it can only be reasoned that players deliberately put themselves outside of turret range.
