Face of Targon's Shield - The Execute Function

Us Tank Supports all know this item well. Relic Shield, Targon's Brace, and Face of the Mountain all empower us to be that front line tank-support our team needs. However, the execute function still needs work. Why is it that from the Shield to the Brace all the way up to the Mountain, the execute function does not increase? Tanky Supports do not have the damage later in the game to execute the minions before their allies can completely kill a minion.

My question is why does the execute function not increase as you buy the next item?

For example: Relic Shield: 200 (100% AD) Damage execute threshold Targon's Brace: 300 (100% AD) Damage execute threshold (up from live 200+100% AD) Face of the Mountain: 400 Damage (100% AD) execute threshold (up from live 200+100% AD)

Or: Relic Shield: 200 (% User's Maximum or Bonus HP) Damage execute threshold Targon's Shield: 250 (% User's Maximum or Bonus HP) Damage execute threshold Face of the Mountain: 300 (% User's Maximum or Bonus HP) Damage execute threshold

After months of people asking for similar changes, why has this not been added? Is there a definitive answer as to why?

Because you can rush FoTM early and make last-hitting is super easy all the time. This encourages you to rush FoTM, but that is a trap option (you need a sightstone, boots, and another tank item first). I think a better solution would involve scaling the execute with champion level (like FQC damage) or game time.

Tanky Supports do not have the damage later in the game to execute the minions before their allies can completely kill a minion Wave.

As far as the execute passive goes - yea, it's pretty much impossible to use more than the 2 Relic starts with, even when allies let you last-hit. You kind of pitifully stand around timing a smack end-game, which just isn't something you can really do when the enemy team is anywhere nearby.

I guess on the plus side Mountain doesn't seem mandatory to complete first for tanky supports, as the only real reason to complete it is the active, which can be handy against dive comps - but is otherwise not as cool as tank stuff like Omen, Sunfire, Visage, Locket, or Gauntlet.

I support this. As a tank support your gold income really falls away to nothing in the late game because you can't execute minions before your allies heedlessly slaughter them and the items also don't have any gp10 features at all making your independent gold income as a tanky support completely dependent on executions. I think the item needs a slight tweak to allow tanky supports to get a decent gold income. Blitzcrank Braum Leona Taric Thresh

Some Gp10 on the item would be a great fix.

Besides for flat base scaling, there's also Level and Max Health.

I really wish they would just make it easier on us already...

Perhaps make the execute scale with level so that you can actually execute stuff and share gold for your team when the game goes past 20 minutes even when you get those teammates that let you last hit it takes you forever to execute that minion...

The real problem is that allies don't let you last hit. That problem will still exist if the execute threshold becomes 400. I see more in an awareness campaign to encourage teamwork.

What if Face of Targon's Shield (lol) scaled with bonus Health?

Think of it: Face of the Mountain itself grants health, Sightstone grants health, the majority of support based tank items (which I expect a suspect a support who buys Relic Shield should be itemizing) grants health, you already have a general scaling path built into being a tanky support right from the get go, and follows the Relic Shield's theme of being a useful support in being a tank.

Well, if the heal pasive fall of late game i don't think it's a problem He has another active to protect the team and the fact it is the only support item who help the adc in lane is a big up the the early game

Make the heal good at all stage is pushing the item to far in regard to the other 2 options (even if ancient coin is behind atm)

Add GpSec and reduce tha amount of stack by 1 to 1/2/3 from 2/3/4.

Adding GpS would give tanky supps better gold flow,while reducing the stack amount will also reduce their annoyance in lane... Leona,Thresh.Braum etc. are a problem because they and their ADCs have so much sustain Tanky-Supp :Tanky supp masteries extra HPreg,Pots(coockies)+Targons execute. ADC: Lifesteal+pot+Execute --> So much sustain.

Making this change would give Tanky support a more clear weakness,while in return giving them better goldflow.

Im not saying this is the best and/or only good suggestion,but the Targongs shiled build path should be looked at.

Always thought the execute became harder to hit late game to balance the item since the shield gets extremely strong late game. Sure it gets harder to last hit minions, but you start getting super tanky which makes the shield active WAY stronger since it scales with max hp. The healing from the execute also gets a lot stronger late game (50+1% of max hp healed). So yeah, it's harder to last hit, but you gain a lot of extra utility that gets really strong on supports like Braum that stack health. Item is honestly a little over powered right now on certain champs, and probably doesn't need any buffs. My two cents.
