I stopped playing League ever since the ADC class update (my old computer couldn't handle it), and came back yesterday, so I missed a lot of what happened to League. I only remember that Maokai's E got buffed (longer duration), and didn't get any other major changes. And now I check http://champion.gg/champion/maokai and it says he's underperforming in both top and jungle. What happened? I'm not complaining, I just want to know.
oSEXYPLATYPUSo2 votesthey nerfed his passive on the heal. and they increased the cd on his Q making him more punishable in lane. also changes to ROA kinda nerfed him a bit for top. and due to meta shifts and ect he dont have great match ups anymore. i still play him top quite a bit but its a struggle you kind have to play passive and farm up and get your big items and scale. if you try to win lane at lvl 3-4 its not as likely. also tp nerfs. teleport got a nerf on the cooldown so its no longer a tp meta top and people are more likely to take ignite so when facing a mao taking ignite nearly secures a lane advantage.

50000000000000001 votesI haven't played enough games yet, but it's just the statistics saying that. He's almost at the bottom. Of course, since I'm an unranked scrub the high elo winrate doesn't matter much. It looked like Maokai was underperforming.

LadyRenly1 votesEveryone was complaining that "POOR MAOKAI" was "unviable" because he was lacking MR/level like most other tanks, so Riot buffed him, then lo and behold, just like Elise he became pick/ban and was oppressive as hell and had to be nerfed.

Vallalan1 voteshes fine. hes still viable. he's just not op right now because the meta doesnt dictate it. tank items got nerfed (as they should have) and now carries are more prevalent top.
he's definitely still a decent pick, just not broken.
