Recently I made a post asking why Urgot was, and now that someone has finally explained it to me, I understand. Can someone explain, however, why Zyra is as well? I just played a normals game, lvl 30's vs. lvl 30's, and our team won. My final score, you ask? Zyra - 4/0/20. It was insane. The rest of my teammates died around 7-10 times althroughout, however, I died ZERO times. How come no one likes her? If anything, she seems incredibly OP versus underpowered.
SpongebobIsLife2 votesI love zyra and have been playing her mid a lot this season. Her problems are that she doesn't too well in the current mobility meta, as they can easily escape her E and actually get out of her ult. She is also extremely easy to kill, and has a useless passive. It's really hard to buff or nerf her bc if you buffed her mid lane potential, her bot lane potential becomes really unhealthy, and if you buff her support potential by watering down her damage, her mid lane becomes useless. She just doesn't fit too well in the current mobility meta.

Jefftiffy1 votesShe is very mana hungry and it is a very lethal bot lane where getting caught is death and she is one of the squishiest supports down there even for a damage support.

she also has one of the slowest base movement speeds of 335 ouch
other champions with more range or leblanc who can just in and out and prevent zyra from landing anything means zyra cant do much but wave clear.
the worst thing about her though is that her plants either target whats closest to the plant, or whatever zyra is currently attacking and they will stay focused on that target. which means champs can be near them and zyra cant command the plants what to attack without going in for an AA or landing another skill shot.
Sassmast3r1 votesThe last thing you stated actually is a MAJOR problem for me. I cannot tell you how many times I have seen champions with about three hp walk away safe from my stranglethorn just because of my moronic plants. So, yes, I agree with the final part. The third part, I don't know if I agree with you completely. If you have high AP and you DO manage to land one... I mean they're almost inevitably dead when you utilize all four skills well. The movement speed thing never affects me, I always just go for boots of swiftness and alacrity. And when it comes to escape, I DO agree, however, her ult can also save her, as well as a well-timed flash.
The main reason I love Zyra so much is how incredibly helpful her ult is in teamfights. We've aced their team before while only losing one member of our own team, and forgive me if this sounds arrogant, but I believe the stranglethorns are what heavily impacted it.
kcStranger1 votesNow, win rates aren't everything, especially for an unpopular champion like Zyra (smaller sample size, and opponents will often not have much experience playing against her). However, the stats actually back up the idea that she's pretty good. Her gold/platinum/diamond win rates are 52.8%/53.2%/53.4% according to LOLDB.
Now, I wouldn't conclude from this that she is clearly OP, especially given the fact that pros almost completely ignore her. However, the numbers back up that she may be better than people think.
