The chat filter needs to be fixed

People nowadays, including myself, use variants of censored words to dodge chat filters.

Instead of saying "fuck", they say "fk" or "fuckk", etc. The first thing that needs to be done is to get rid of the misspelled variants like fk, fuk, and fck. Then the filter should find swear words or misspelled variants within other words and censor it like fuckk, ffuck, or fkk.

In theory a better chat filter would maybe make the community less toxic. Feel free to agree or disagree, but if you disagree please let me know why.

My only argument to the chat filter, is you can turn it off. So dodging a filter you can turn off seems silly to begin with. Let alone improving a chat filter you can turn off. I agree for the people who want to have it one because they dont want to see it, that improving it would be a good idea.

Shoot, I should have addressed this. Whenever someone wants to say words that are censored, they want someone to hear them. And if people don't know whether or not their allies or enemies have chat filters, they assume they do. So whether or not people just turn it off, there should be less toxicity in the chats. The only way around that is for people to demand answers from allies or enemies about whether or not they use chat filters.

When people want to say a censored word, they want somebody to hear them. With an improved chat filter, there will be a lot less satisfaction because some people may use chat filters and have no idea what you said.

I'll admit, i didnt think about that, so in that case, yeah i think a more strict chat filter would be a good idea.
