@Meddler When exactly do you plan on removing Plants if it turns out to be a failure?

A lot of people in the PBE have been complaining a lot about the changes in the jungle. Once it hits lives and many people are too dissatisfied with Plants and smite changes, do you plan on reverting the changes quickly or are you going to wait it out a bit to see if people get used to it/balance the changes?

I'm not try to put Riot on the spot, just curious about Riot's direction with the promise they made to revert jungles changes if it doesn't do well.

Edit: I think a better way to phrase my question is: At what point will you consider plants and jungle changes to be a failure and worth removing?

I think it really depends on what you define as a failure. Is a failure bad response from community, or if it actually negatively effects gameplay?

Most likely they will keep the plants for a while and try stuff like having the plant have an activation range (like thresh lantern so there is no ranged bias) and wait for people to try and get used to it.

If riot only made changes based on the immediate response to something nothing would ever change in league.

Look at what happened with Solo queue. Riot was stubborn for months on end about it, and people bitched and left the game for it. If it really is a "failure" which it probably won't be, we'll probably have a season of dumb shit, then Riot will admit they fucked up and remove it from the game.

Actually, the Pbe community isn't complaining super hard about getting them removed. There's two threads saying to outright remove them and lots of comments on both sides of the fence in the red posts. http://boards.pbe.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/champions-gameplay-feedback/fBR0L9N3-plant-spawn-full-system-design http://boards.pbe.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/champions-gameplay-feedback/pFTGGbog-plant-spawn-system-iteration-1025 They were mostly complaining about how many there were and how random the spawns were (both issues have been addressed).

If they do choose to remove, it likely won't be till after they had chance to balance the plant & try to improve the plants. I assume that would be at least 2 or 3 patches. Maybe more depending on how much adjustments they make to the plants. Any longer than needed & they're just DQ-ing the plants.

I'm personally more curious about what they're going to do to the jungle if they revert the plants. Are they going to keep all the other jungle changes & just bring back smite buffs? Or will it be a complete revert of the jungle? I highly doubt they would add something new to replace plants.
