How to abuse a top laner who takes ignite over teleport?

I traditionally pick someone who is very hard to kill into this match-up so that their ignite becomes worthless, but how can I abuse the teleport advantage? I'm relatively new to top lane and still trying to learn the ropes.

You have two potential advantages. First, if you force a situation where you both trade relatively equally and you're both pretty unhealthy, you can back and then come back to lane without losing exp, which allows you to then shove him out of lane and deny him exp. Your second advantage comes from tp ganking bot. Keep an eye out constantly for opportunities to cheese out a double kill and pick up a dragon.

Get a gank early on to kill them and force them to walk their fat asses back to lane while you farm and push the wave out. Then either tp back with a significant item advantage or walk back and look to put out and make a tp play elsewhere, most likely bottom lane.

TP is so valuable late game.

If you want to utilize it early game, you'll want to TP to a ward and either gank for bot lane or help take dragon with your jungler.

Best idea would be to learn map awareness.

In the early game, be tentative about potential TP ganks, or find wards from where you can join a team fight. Come mid game when you get homeguard, you can make powerful initiations by TPing to a near by ward and starting the teamfight with the massive MS boost. If your trying to split push, you can TP into a teamfight if a fight starts. Allowing you to Split push without abandoning your allies.

By forcing them to push the wave early game. High level players like boxbox start off at low level jungle creeps to have an early level 2 powerspike then freeze the wave near their tower. This sets up for easy ganks and generally trades will go in your favor. If you actually win with ignite then the lane is pretty much over since you give map presence.

Usually its best to roam bot with a TP. You ask their support to do a deep ward and then flank them. This is a decision you make and its much risky if your playing vs aka tryndamere, etc.

If you can't swap your screen to other lanes frequently, pay attention to allies' positions on the mini map and their health to watch for opportunities to teleport. If you find that too challenging, just pick something like Lissandra instead of Maokai to make yourself immune to flame.
