Shutdown gold and Riot Games.

Now we have that new bounty system, where comebacks are often and good players are punished for playing well.

Riot, at least make the shutdown gold reset to 300g after a person dies. Right now when a person has 1000g bounty on head and they die they still have 600g bounty.

That is crazy. This means that even though he played well, outpathed his enemy and ganked well, he will be weaker and have less gold than a person that kills him after that 2 times by pure luck. That is another RNG thing in this game and RNG is never good in MOBA.

Less RNG means more things to learn and more strategy, which is good. More RNG means less control and more random events, like dragons now.

This will be my opinion only but I think that there in not even a single RNG part of this game that is good.

That is all I wanted to say about shutdown gold.

I will say something very personal about this game now. I am a Shaco player, my champion is using Dark Harvest and Duskblade. Without those two he doesn't have damage, because his base damage is low.

What I would want from the game is ... removal of both those things. I were abusing them, but I think that the game is bad because of them. They are adding unhealthy burst damage.

For me it feels shitty, when my champion is strong, but not really. He is just abusing broken items and runes to stay viable. Without those two Shaco feels so bad that he is not even worth looking at.

You don't have to respond to this right now. This post is about shutdown gold. I wrote about Shaco just to make myself feel better. I had to get that feeling of uselessness off my chest.

Not exactly. Good players know when to stop chasing kills and start hitting objectives and being mobile. If the player's good enough, he won't get his bounty taken all that often. The game has a lot of problems, but I feel like this isn't one of them. Well, not a big one. I do think you have a point about the shutdown gold reset. I see why they have it this way (a good player generally doesn't start sucking after one death), but I also see why it's problematic.

I don't believe he/she means it by the good player will start to play poorly after the first death; I think he/she means that a team can just cheese out the champion with the bounty still on their head to get back 1.6k gold that they were down by just focusing the ahead player. There are times where you cant really outplay no matter what you do without giving up advantages. So it basically just turns into a focusing of the guy with the bounty and no other strategy involved.

Ah, good point. I never really considered it because I'm more of an objectives guy, but I suppose a team could focus the one guy and just keep farming extra gold. Then again, if they're doing that and he stays away from the action, he's also giving his team openings to push lanes unopposed... It's a tricky situation.

Personally I think more comeback mechanics available in the game the better as it keeps games close and people invested.

A good example is that you get crushed in lane go 0 and 4 by 14 minutes the enemy laner has taken all your turret plating . Even though you lost lane and played poorly you can still get back in the game by taking down your enemy laner as his shutdown gold will be worth as much the plating you lost . I think it makes teams ahead play safer and not pick as silly fights just for the sake of it which I like as it promotes macro play.

I think the nerfs to dark harvest going through will get it's scaling just right for average game length but I really do think that when someone takes a dark harvest hit they should receive a debuff for a few seconds so they can't be double or triple proc.

Sorry, but I think that if you played badly and were 0/4 then you deserved to lose. Giving you comeback is unfair here.

In my opinion (very subjective) we don't need bounty system. We need more ways of gaining gold.

Mainly, there are epic monsters, minions and jng camps.

We could just add something that both teams have to fight for or some new ways of denying your enemy cs. Comeback can be achieved in other ways than just killing people. Riot could achieve that in so many creative ways but instead they changed champions and towers into sacks of gold.

There could be even something as silly as an objective that would spawn for a losing team if they were losing by 2000g. Winning team would have to risk for it and losing team would have to protect and get it. It would spawn in a place, that is closer to the losing team. That would be all advantage that they would get. I wouldn't like this option, this is just a silly example, but as you can see, there are many ways to deal with comeback issue and probably all are better than walking sacks of gold that we have now.

I would prefer this bounty thingy to be just fixed, so that people don't get 1600g for 2 kills. Especially that it is too easy to kill people in this high damage meta (this is the only meta that nobody can name, we had tank meta, mage meta, support meta, adc meta, assassin meta and this thing, nobody know what this meta even is xd tankless meta? xd).

Idk I feel every game should feel comebackable and so many laners can have a poor score by the end of there laning phase due to a heavy jungler presence.

On the flip side you are going like 6 And 0 then you shouldnt really be dieing due to how ahead you are.

That's an interesting thought on the objective spawn but I feel it would just be a snowball mechanic for ahead teams.

As well if you go 0 and 4 does that mean your entire team deserves to lose ? That is a huge part of these changes too help prevent the worst player not decide games.

If you start losing to someone who is 0/4, you are less deserving of a win than your opponent.

This is something I can heavily agree with. Just in laning phase at 0/0/0 I racked up a 500 gold bounty just for out CS'ing my opponent. And it wasn't like I was playing an oppressive champ, I was playing Kassadin, a champ known for having a horrible laning phase.

another complaint i do not really get. it is my understanding that the max bounty you can collect for a single kill is 1000 gold, however, that is not the maximum bounty a player can collect and put on their head. in the example of a 1000g shutdown then a 600g shutdown, that means that the shutdown player accrued a total of a 1600g shutdown, meaning it will take two kills to take the whole bounty, instead of just one lucky kill. i very much like it this way, as if it gave then entire bounty at once, now the enemy player for one successful kill on you and taking advantage of the CS'ing time he just got on you, is potentially about to walk back into lane plus 1/2-2/3 of an extra item on top of qhat they were already going to come back with, potentially meaning that they will walk back with1-2 more items then they left with. whereas with this system they can buy maybe 1/3 to 1/2 and extra item, possibly topping off that infinity edge or lich bane. bringing them back into the game a bit but not as much as per say, an infinity edge and a zeal, or a lich bane and a needlessly large rod would. forcing them to try and shut you down again to collect the rest of your bounty, rather then simply start curbing you out if they scale better with items. additionally the current system forces players that are ahead to play smarter. not wanting them to risk fights they would if they were ahead with no bounty on their heads. do you want to return to the days of "well leblanc got an early kill ff we are done here" again? i much prefer a LoL where every game is winnable, even if you get really behind, you can still get a solid pick and get back yourself back in the game, rather then every game being decided by first blood.
