Choosing Your Main to Climb: A How To Guide for the Lower Elos
So, you hit 30 and are now eligible for ranked. How ever, you haven't gotten a main and going into ranked without one isn't the smartest idea. So, here are some ideas for choosing a main that'll help you climb.
But first, here are some ideas on who NOT to choose: -High Skill-Cap Champions. This is because while they do really well when played right, you have to focus on mechanics, not objectives. Getting a really good KDA doesn't matter when all your towers are down because their Tryndamere was split pushing. -Cheese Champions. These champions scale off of the enemies patience and prior knowledge. Thus, they're unreliable. Looking at you, Shaco.
Now for who to choose: -Champion's that could fill more than one position. So someone says that they're going to support, so you pick Nautilus since you're left with jungle. They then change their mind and go jungle. You're stuck with support, but it doesn't matter because you chose Nautilus. I'm guessing you have gotten my drift with that example. So champions like Nautilus, Poppy, Cho'gath, basically any jungler. -Objective-Based Champions. These Champions are focused on taking objectives. They're generally great duelists as well. In this category, go for ADCs like Tristana, Quinn, and Jinx or the likes of Hiemerdinger, Tryndamere, and Jax. -Gankers. Almost Exclusively junglers, these champions can gank often and do it well. Nocturne, Sejuani, Warrior Xin Zhao, Nautilus etc. -Teamfight based champions. Champions with team fight ultimates, and immense AoE impact. Amumu, Brand, Sejuani, and Vel'koz are all good picks. -Farming Champions. These champions are great at CSing and generally scale of it. Veigar, Nasus, AP Nunu, and Mundo tend to work well. -Low Skill Cap Champions. These champion's lack mechanics so you can focus on Objectives. Annie, Yorick, Blitzcrank, and Lulu are for you So, those are my suggestions on who to main. Happy climbing.
works too tbh.
