If Shaco were to be tweaked/reworked, what would you like?

Hey there, Onwodori here.

So I was quite surprised Shaco wasn't one of the big 4 to be reworked! Honestly I am relieved he isn't getting completely reshaped because, believe it or not, I find him to be both healthy and to have an acceptable amount of power to skill ratio. Shaco is *easily one of the most difficult characters to master, especially when you start throwing in AP vs AD Shaco playstyles ...

Anyhow. If you were to see him changed, what would you like changed and what would you like to keep the same? For me, he feels more or less perfect, though his E and passive could perhaps be a bit more interactive. His blink, boxes and Ultimate are most definitely core to him and his character.

For that change, perhaps I'd look for his passive to be more a stacking buff depending on how many people he's killed and gotten away with, like 'infamy' - his story striking fear into the survivor's hearts. His E could be a skillshot, plain and simple, and perhaps his ult could also throw a dagger though it would *not deal any damage or even slow, just be an extra bit of confusion for the enemy.

Start each Shaco game with a joke in all chat,

I would like visual update, and maybe more lore, or mini story.

Some think that, with the song 'Lulu and Shaco's quirky encounter,' he may be related to The Glade.

That would be so freaking awesome! Like, the glade creature that wasn't like the others! I wish riot would make a coded lore for Shaco! This way. It could remain mysterious but you could put it together many different ways!

The stealth+dash is signature Shaco, and has to stay. I don't like the split second delay before the Q dash, I feel like that should be cleaned up.

The passive is probably due to go. It's a mechanic that significantly alters his damage output, but feels more luck based in most cases than anything. It feels like they just wanted to use the Cass ult tech, but it's less thematic and feels worse to play around.

The delay on the Jack in the Box needs to stay. I think not being able to mash QWER as fast as possible to get a kill is a desirable trait in an assassin/burst mage, and the JitB delay is wonderful for keeping that intact. This is another Signature Shaco move, and would have to exist in some iteration in any rework, although I could see boxes getting changed in some way.

I feel like the Shiv could be made better, either more interactive or more situational... something. It's not terrible as far as abilities go, but it probably could be spruced up.

The clone is Signature Shaco. Still remember a game of Hexakill TT forever ago when my team's Shaco was dueling the enemy Trist. Both were low, but Trist was winning. Kayle came and ulted Shaco, the Ult wore off, it was going to be a trade with Trist killing Shaco first... And it was at that moment of victory that Trist realized she'd been attacking the clone the whole time. It exploded in her face, she died with no kill. I would like to see some changes to the clone that are like that, where you can really mess with people's minds. I know the clone using abilities as well would be very strong, but maybe both Shaco and Clone could have their abilities deal 65% damage while it's up?

He has a planned full VGU, which is why he wasn't part of the big 4. Like Evelynn, he will be getting some minor changes until they can complete his full VGU. Riot has done some experimenting, including making his ultimate fire out Shaco as a projectile and, at the end, he would reappear with the clone, however this didn't go through because Yasuo's Wind Wall was being tested at the same time, and if Shaco hit Wind Wall while flying out as a skillshot with his ultimate, Shaco would just cease to exist in that game.

I am aware of that, but I also secretly hope they give up and leave him be? He's wonderful within his tiny community of skilled Shaco players

The biggest problem with Shaco is that he offers literally nothing after the early game. Your goal as Shaco is to get your allies fed and then spend the rest of the game trolling the enemy team as much as possible. He feels too strong in lower ranks, but too weak in higher ones because of this.

That's why you build him AP and he becomes this horrifying funnel-er in team fights. Place a box on one side as they run your team down and herd them in. Walk your Ultimate in from stealth and watch as they all take 800+ magic damage and burn cooldowns on it, confusion running rampant.

It should be mentioned, though, that his VGU likely isn't to come too soon. The VGU teams are currently tackling Galio and Warwick, and after them will likely be tackling Evelynn and Urgot. After them, I have no predictions, but I doubt the psycho clown would be on the list for a while.
